Pallas (Semi-human): Bred for war, your genetics have limited your opportunities growing up. Despite the demands of your genes, you are your own person now more than ever.
- Diverse. You may choose 3 benefits from the Diverse Benefits list (see page XX).
- You may only choose Citizen, Commando, Hunter, Pioneer, Rescuer, Serviceman, Ship Captain, Soldier of Fortune, Special Ops, Stranger, Trooper, or Warrior as your specialty.
- You gain DR 1/-. This damage reduction stacks with and is considered to come from armor.
- The keen quality of all attacks against you is reduced to one-half their normal value (round down).
- You automatically succeed on all cooperative checks where you are the helper if you have at least 4 ranks in the skill being used and the leader shares your allegiance or is one of your teammates.
- Your maximum Tactics skill rank increases to your Career Level +5. This benefit is not cumulative with any other effect that increases your maximum Tactics rank.
- You may avoid receiving the fatigued or unconscious conditions from taking damage to your wounds a number of times per scene equal to your starting action dice.
- You gain the low-light vision NPC quality.
- Reviled: The disposition of any character that does not share your native culture and is aware of your race is reduced by 1 grade.
- Favored Classes: If you have more levels in any base class than your highest level in either Pointman or Soldier, your starting action dice are reduced by 2.
Shadow Patriot: You keep the old Majestic lamp lit — just in case the world still needs you.
Requirements: Shadow Patriot Allegiance.
- +1 to any 1 attribute.
- You gain 1 forte for any 1 skill focus you possess.
- Impress is always a class skill for you. Further, your result cap with this skill increases by 5 (maximum 60).
- Your lowest attribute increases by 1. You gain this benefit again at Career Levels 5, 10, 15, and 20 (each time to your lowest attribute at the time — thus, this benefit may affect multiple attributes over the course of your career).
