Crafty Games

Crafty Games is a roleplaying games company publishing the acclaimed Spycraft espionage RPG. It supports both Spycraft v1 (published under the d20 System licence) and Spycraft v2 (published under the Open Gaming Licence - OGL)

SA Talents

The following Talents have been created for use in this setting. Most of the Origins in SC 2.0 are completely appropriate, so it's perfectly ok to mix-and-match. The two sets complement each other really well.

 

Atreides: The Duchy of Caladan is home to the Atreides family, loved by their servants and respected by their enemies.

  • +2 Charisma, -2 to any 1 attribute. 
  • Once per session, you may improve the disposition of any 1 non-villain NPC by 1 grade without a skill check.
  • You gain 1 acquaintance-grade contact (see page 458). This contact improves by 1 grade at Career Levels 6, 12 and 18.
  • Your threat range with Networking checks increases by 1. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 5, 10, 15 and 20.
  • Canly. The disposition of all members of House Harkonnen towards you is reduced by 2 grades. 

 

Buddislamic: As a Zensunni or Zenshiite, your faith gives you strength to face a universe that doesn’t want you.

  • +2 Wisdom, -2 Charisma.
  • +4 bonus to oppose Taunt actions
  • You gain 1 additional focus or forte (see page 98)
  • You gain a +1 insight bonus with Will saves. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20.

 

Bene Tleilax: The Tleilaxau are biologists without peer, engineering life-forms for customers across the Imperium.

  • +2 Constitution, -2 Charisma.
  • You gain the Edged weapon proficiency (see page 28).
  • You gain 1 Science skill focus and 1 forte relating to this focus.
  • Your Constitution is considered to be 1 higher when determining subdual damage thresholds (see page 239). This bonus increases by an additional 1 at Career Levels 6, 12 and  18.

 

Corrino: Heirs to the Golden Lion Throne, your family have ruled the Imperium for countless millennia.

  • +2 Charisma, -2 Strength.
  • You gain 2 acquaintance-grade contacts (see page 458). These contacts improve by 1 grade at Career Levels 6, 12 and 18.
  • Your threat range with Intimidate checks increases by 1. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 5, 10, 15 and 20.

 

Cyborg: A product of Ixian engineering, your life has been saved by the implantation of technology that borders on heresy.

  • +4 Strength, -2 Wisdom, -2 Charisma.
  • You gain the natural attack (Slam, Caliber II) NPC quality.
  • You gain DR 1/-. 
  • You gain a +1 insight bonus with Fortitude saves. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20.
  • Reviled. The disposition of any character that does not share your native culture and is aware of your Origin is reduced by 1 grade. 

 

Face Dancer: Grown in a Tleilaxau Axolotl tank, you are a troubadour-spy. You can change your appearance at will.

  • +2 Charisma, -2 Constitution. 
  • Falsify is always a class skill for you. Further, your result cap with this skill increases by 5 (maximum 60).
  • You gain 1 additional Cultures skill focus.
  • Morph. You require no additional time for and suffer no penalty to Falsify/Disguise checks from changes to your height, age, skin color or sex.

 

Genetic Nexus: You could have been the pinnacle of the Bene Gesserit breeding program. You weren’t.

  • +4 to any one ability, -4 to any one ability
  • You gain a +1 insight bonus with Fortitude saves and action die results. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20.
  • Disdain. The disposition of all members of the Bene Gesserit towards you is reduced by 2 grades if they learn of your heritage.

 

Ginaz: The swordmaster school of Ginaz is legendary and your martial skill is second to none.

  • +2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, -2 to any 2 attributes.
  • You gain the Edged and Exotic Edged weapon proficiencies (see page 28).
  • You gain 1 acquaintance-grade contact (see page 458). This contact improves by 1 grade at Career Levels 6, 12 and 18.
  • You gain a +1 bonus with skill checks made to determine surprise. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20.

 

 

Harkonnen: The Barony of Geidi Prime is home to House Harkonnen, merciless tyrants who strike fear into all.

  • +2 Strength, -2 to any 1 attribute.
  • Intimidate and Resolve are always class skills for you. Further, your result cap with these skills increases by 5 (maximum 60).
  • You receive a Caliber II weapon pick to add to your personal gear at no cost.
  • You gain a +1 insight bonus on initiative checks. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20.
  • Canly. The disposition of all members of House Atreides towards you is reduced by 2 grades.

 

 

Moritani: Known for their vindictiveness, House Moritani has a reputation for never forgetting a slight.

  • +2 Intelligence, -2 Wisdom
  • Once per session you may apply a verbal Cheap Shot trick to an attack check targeting a character’s Charisma without suffering the standard -4 penalty or increased error ranges.
  • You gain 1 acquaintance-grade contact (see page 458). This contact improves by 1 grade at Career Levels 6, 12 and 18.
  • Your threat range with Networking checks increases by 1. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 5, 10, 15 and 20.

 

 

Outfreyn: Dwelling on the borders of the Imperium, either socially or geographically, you are your own person.

  • +2 to any 1 attribute, -2 to any 1 attribute.
  • Choose 1 skill. This skill is always a class skill for you. Further, your result cap with this skill increases by 5 (maximum 60).
  • Choose 1 skill. Your threat range with checks made using this skill increases by 1. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 5, 10, 15 and 20.
  • Reviled. The disposition of any character that does not share your native culture and is aware of your Origin is reduced by 1 grade.

 

 

Ordos: A trading cartel powerful enough to be recognised as a Great House, the Ordos of Sigma Draconis are without emotion or mercy.

  • +4 Intelligence, -4 Charisma. 
  • You receive a Caliber II tradecraft or resource pick to add to your personal gear at no cost. 
  • You gain 1 acquaintance-grade contact (see page 458). This contact improves by 1 grade at Career Levels 6, 12 and 18. 
  • Your threat range with Intimidate checks increases by 1. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 5, 10, 15 and 20.

 

 

Pyon: Bound to a planet or a noble house, you are a commoner, one of the workhorses of the Imperium.

  • +2 Constitution, -2 Intelligence.
  • You gain 1 Profession focus and 1 forte relating to this focus. 
  • Your threat range with Blend checks increases by 1. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 5, 10, 15 and 20.

 

 

Richese: House Richese are technological masters, producing devices that dangerously skirt the Butlerian Proscriptions.

  • +2 Intelligence, -2 Charisma. 
  • You gain 1 additional Science focus. 
  • You gain 1 acquaintance-grade contact (see page 458). This contact improves by 1 grade at Career Levels 6, 12 and 18.
  • You gain 4 additional skill points at Career Level 1, and 1 additional skill point for each Career Level gained thereafter.

 

 

Spacing Guild: As a representative of the Spacing Guild, you carry considerable swing with the Great Houses. 

  • +2 Intelligence, -2 Charisma. 
  • Once per session, you may make a bribe check at the minimum Bribe value without paying its cost (see page 121). 
  • You gain 1 acquaintance-grade contact (see page 458). This contact improves by 1 grade at Career Levels 6, 12 and 18. 
  • You gain a +1 insight bonus with Impress and Intimidate checks. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20.

 

Tseida: Fanatical supporters of the Butlerian Proscriptions, House Tseida are learned scholars and merciless opponents.

  • +2 Charisma, -2 to any 1 attribute.
  • You gain 1 acquaintance-grade contact (see page 458). This contact improves by 1 grade at Career Levels 6, 12 and 18.
  • Intimidate and Manipulate are always class skills for you. Further, your result cap with these skills increases by 5 (maximum 60).
  • You gain a +1 bonus with Knowledge checks. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20.

 

 

Vernius: Scions of the planet Ix, House Vernius produce the finest machines in the Imperium. A dubious accolade at best...

  • +2 Intelligence, -2 Wisdom. 
  • Mechanics and Science are always class skills for you. Further, your result cap with these skills increases by 5 (maximum 60). 
  • You gain the focus Science (Fabrication). 
  • You receive a Caliber III tradecraft or resource pick to add to your personal gear at no cost.
 

Wallach: Dwelling on the world of Wallach VII, House Wallach have questionable ties to the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood.

  • +2 Intelligence, -2 to any 1 attribute. 
  • You gain 1 acquaintance-grade contact (see page 458). This contact improves by 1 grade at Career Levels 6, 12 and 18. 
  • You gain a +1 insight bonus with Reflex saves. This bonus increases by an additional +1 at Career Levels 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20. 
  • You may ignore any "Bene Gesserit Only" prerequisite when choosing feats.
