I can't seem to find this mentioned anywhere...might have been updated in second printing.

As Pummel requires a standard attack roll, can it be modified by tricks that modify standard attacks (whether unarmed or armed, I suppose possibly separate cases)?

I don't have my books in front of me so I might have forgotten something, but I'd say any unarmed trick that is stated to apply to a "standard attack" and doesn't specify a half-action attack, or that it must do lethal damage, or some other caveat that doesn't mesh with Pummel, would be applicable.

I'm kinda dreading the idea that somehow, somewhere there is a way to pummel more than 1 person at a time. Kinda like the "You want my wallet?" scene from Perfect Weapon...

I don't think there's a standard rule here--after all, there are feats that give you tricks that apply to different attack modes--but I think you'll need a trick that says it includes pummel. Most tricks specify what sorts of attacks they apply to.

Dang, I wish I had brought my PDFs with me today. I can't remember if Pummel is it's own action or if it's an unarmed attack trick...

Pummel is a full action Attack action.

Ah, in that case, the trick would have to specify Pummel, like some of them specify Kick attacks.

Edit: Unless I forgot something somewhere.

Pummel is a seperate and distinct action, not suitable for modification by tricks that call for a standard attack. There is at least one trick that includes/ends in a pummel, but I don' think there are (m)any that modify it. It's actually a pretty potent option, letting you effectively make two attacks under one attack roll (handy if you want to spend action dice to make the hit stick) and the doubled damage will help you punish folks whose armor might otherwise stop subdual damage cold.
