I've gone ahead and deleted the second post as well. I'm going to assume, Field Agent, that you missed that I'm one-third owner of this company, and by its extension this website, so....

I am, and while we appreciate that other sites are comfortable with folks redistributing unlicensed, copyrighted material, we're not. As the forum vets have mentioned, we're perfectly happy with you linking to sites that legally distribute songs, or to YouTube vids that contain them.

We'll give you the benefit of the doubt on this one. No banning or other punitive action because, in the delightfully appropriate words of Quahog's Spider-Man, "Everybody gets one." This is an official warning, however. Do not post illegal material here.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled soundtrack discussion, already in progress.

Hmmm, ran across this on the World Works forums - RPG Deck. An MP3 program designed for fading soundtracks and sound effects in and out for use at the gaming table.

Right now I just plug my MP3 player into a set of Logitech speakers, and have it playing quietly in the background, but for those who feel more enterprising this might be useful. Smiley

I just remembered this song... it would make a fantastic Bourne-y theme song...

http://rapidshare.com/files/226662458/Ulysses_31.rar [40K]

The first 9 tracks (with titles translated into english) of French performer Parallax's revisiting of the soundtrack of 80s French/Japanese anime Ulysses 31 (plus the full-length english version of the title theme). French muscian Parallax is currently in negotiations with the composers of the show's english score to release a full CD of their reinterpretation, and has made these first tracks feely available by way of a taster (if you download from the site, the URL of which is included in the archive linked above, you get individual self-extracting archives with file titles & track info in French)

Definitely hearing some echoes of The Black Hole in "The Cyclops and The Blind Monks".

For those opposed to Rapidshare, you can find a music player on the official Parallax webpage for the project.  All the text is in french, but I'm sure you can find the universal symbol for 'play'. Cheesy

For a brassy film noir or espionage track - Dinah Washington's Is You Is, or Is You Ain't. An instrumental version would also work very well.

A classic. Thanks for the refresher!

Just started listening to Aalborg Soundtracks and . My only complaint is pretty darned mild - the music is all over the place, ranging from bagpipes to crumhorns, science fiction to fantasy.

Good stuff, just very mixed. Great if used as MP3s, not so hot if you try just playing it through like a CD.

The Auld Grump, a lot that is labeled 'Fantasy' would be great for Spycraft.

Excellent timing. Maybe this will get the Pet Shop Boys out of my head. Need to not be thinking about World on Fire today...

And for some scenes, there's really only one possibility. (Raymond Scott's Powerhouse, a tune everyone knows, but most don't know that they know.)

The Auld Grump, from Looney Tunes, if nothing else.

*EDIT* Does the 'Flash' command actually do anything that wouldn't be better served by 'URL=' ? If not, then why is it there?

*EDIT 2* And I see that my computer has gone back to compressing images on my screen, then putting the full image up on the posts. Spoilered.

It allows you to embed flash content inline.

But, if I recall correctly, it has to be enabled on the back end of the (Crafty) site.
