One good place to DL some stuff is Bill Brown at www.billbrownmusic.com.
He's the guy that did the music for Rainbow 6, Ghost Recon, and CSI: NY among others, he has a bunch of mp3s in his site (and links to sites that sell his stuff).

Another good one is Jasper Kyd at www.jasperkyd.com.
He's done the music for the Hitman-series (among others), there are some mp3s available at his site too.

Awesome selections everyone.  OverNinja, I was actually gonna ask if anyone has or can find the Rainbow Six soundtracks cause they were great!

I actually just saw Avalon for the first time last night. The music was really crucial in making the movie as cool as it was.

I have been using a mix of stuff for my SteamCraft (Spypunk?) games -
Danny Elfman movie scores
Song of the Iron Road (for a long, slow chase scene involving two trains, one with a four hour lead, a steam powered automobile, and a snowstorm)
Soundtrack from The Man Who Would Be King
Soundtrack from League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (much better than the terrible movie)
A mix of music from the Irish rebellions (Foggy Dew being one of the most used)

If I can find it then I will likely use the soundtrack from Murder on the Orient Express as well.

And, if I can ever talk my players into continuing the SteamCraft game into the early Twentieth Century then I have some rather grim WWI music that I would like to use. (Anyone for 'Hanging on the Old Barbed Wire'?) For some reason they seem to view the steam age as being just the 1800s, but the biggest and most powerful steam locomotives were built in the 1930s and '40s. I want to work in the death of Rudolph Diesel, dang it!

I have the Soma Secret Agent channel playing right now. Good stuff!

I was working last night and cycling through the 3,500-odd songs I have in my iTunes library and came across Green Day's "Espionage," from the Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me soundtrack. I mentally flagged it for when I was cruising the boards this morning. It's a great track for a fun-loving tradecraft game.

The Monkey's Mask by Single Gun Theory; soundtrack to the Australian film of the same name, an adaption of an Australian detective novel written completely in verse. Mostly instrumental with some vocal tracks. Some of them are quite haunting.

Music from Forever Knight & More Music from Forever Knight. A combination of instrumental scores and goth-pop songs interspersed with dialogue snippets from the show. Most of the songs are crap, but the scores are solid gold for the creepy, unsettling and mysterious scenes of a campaign.

Oddly I really enjoyed the opening track of Johny English, 'A Man for All Seasons' Smiley. Heck I made the Shadow Patriot's gamebreaker class ability with that tune running through my head  Tongue.

And of course Radio Rivendell has been around forever. Smiley

The B5 soundtracks by Franke are also good.

*Edit* And some day I want to do more with Stan Rogers for theme music - I used Northwest Passage as the background for Pagan Publishing's Walker in the Wastes.)

Some odd, but useful choices for horror games.

Greek Orthodox Chants
Gregorian Chants
And a 70 minute Horror Music Mix.

Others for horror, anyone?

I've got a slew of horror soundtracks, but I'm swamped getting stuff done for GenCon. I'll try to get back here and post some later. Smiley

A couple of good spy-techno bands to check out:

Thunderball
Thievery Corporation (Great Mirror Conspiracy is my fav album)

Also,

Karminsky Experience
United Future Organization
Crystal Method (for action scenes)

And a song I always liked for Shadowrun is Faithless' 'Take the Long Way Home' from the Sunday 8PM album. I just think it is perfect for runners or agents coming into a club where a firefight is brewing.

Oh, I forgot one of my all time favorites.

Proppellerheads - DecksandDrumsandRockandRoll. Great album with several mock James Bond tunes. In Her Majesty's Secret Service is old school Bond set to bad arse fat beats!

http://www.last.fm/music/Propellerheads?q=proppellerheads

They have had songs on the Matrix soundtrack (famous for Take California being used in the hotel lobby shoot-em-up scene) and Austin Powers. They have had tons of commercials as well. And it is their only album, though they contribute on a lot.

Teos, Giddy with excitement at Gencon starting soon!
