They have had songs on the Matrix soundtrack (famous for Take California being used in the hotel lobby shoot-em-up scene) ...

I thought that was Spybreak...

Ah, yeah! Thanks for the correction! You know they have to be good for Spycraft with a track title like Spybreak!

Thinking of a techno mixed CD that had Take California, a short version, on it. Spybreak on the Matrix CD is, I think, also a shortened version (though not vastly different).

Im all for Juno Reactor.... you can pretty much find a track for almost any type of theme... even a Cowboy/Wild West theme, with a track called Pistolero.

Conga Fury is probably my favourite track.

They've done a bunch of movie/game stuff. Got the Conga Fury from MK Annihilation OST.

Wing Commander Prophecy OST has Komit from them, my favorites from that soundtrack are Stray Bullet by KMFDM and Mercy by Paradise Lost. The whole CD is worth looking for IMHO.

Matrix Reloaded: Mona Lisa Overdrive by Juno Reactor - great chase music.
Animatrix: Supermoves by Overseer - techno fight music.

The matrix soundtracks are good in general for any contemporary/future game. Go by Andy Hunter from the Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever OST is a great fight track too. You'd recognise that one from the TV trailer for the Enter the Matrix videogame. Another good choice is Rammstein for combat in general.

I used to use Enigma for fights. That worked too. Mea Culpa and Sadeness.

Juno Reactor is indeed excellent, and a great live experience to boot Smiley

My vote goes to High Energy Protons (Orion mix) Smiley

I had a sudden realization that I need to do a chase scene set to Hamster Dance... Next time I run the game set in my friend's O' Canada! campaign there will be a chase, just for that. (Yes, he finally named the campaign....) I still haven't decided what the vehicles will be, or who will be predator and prey, but there will be a hamster dance in the team's future....

(I can't believe that the only car chase I could find set to Hamster Dance was by a 12 year old....)

The Auld Grump, does it work as well as Yakety Sax?

There is a free gaming soundtrack up on DTRPG for today, part of it may well see use next week when the chase through the everglades ends. Smiley Not bad.

The weird thing is, I don't find myself using soundtracks in game, but often find myself assembling sound tacks (in the commercial sense) for my games.  Track lists of songs that capture the mood of the characters and game.

Of course, I often find the games I'm in have people casting actors for their characters and the major NPCs as well.  I've even been known give token rewards (50XP or so) for meaty, hook filled bios with casting and music suggestions.

The score to Conan the Barbarian is pretty damn awesome - it opens with Mako's narration!
