Someone with the MS Office 2007 Compatibility pack should be able to open it, whether they can save it to Office 2003 or earlier, I don't know.

I haven't played with Office 2003 and the Compatability Pack for quite some time, But if I remember correctly you should be able to open it and then resave it as an office 2003 or before format (.xls) but there is the possibility of some of the features not working correctly if your spreadsheet utilizes any new features from the 2007 release.

I can look into this at work tomorrow and find out for sure.

Thanks for the tip about the compatibility pack, folks. I didn't know it existed.

Presuming that people want it and the conversion works, I should be able to offer it to anyone who is interested. If I get a little feedback and brush it up, I might submit it to the site.

It's just a little tool I use to quickly figure NPC mods without a bunch of table lookups.

Sweet! Looking forward to seeing it, Psion.

Here's the converted sheet:

http://home.metrocast.net/~adkohler/game/sc2NPCworksheet.xls

I'll probably take it down soon, so those who want it should grab it.

To use it, pick roman numerals for each quality and enter a threat level next to "TL".

As you can see, it's pretty much just a table lookup utility. It doesn't add up costs or tabulate combat modifiers, though those are fairly easy things to do compared to the table lookup part.

The roman numeral cells have drop down selectors. Those that must have values can contain only I-X. Those that you don't have to have a value in (like skills) can be blank as well.

Damage save and VP/WP can both be blank. Obviously, leave the appropriate one blank for the appropriate type of NPC. Wink

As for the lookup tables themselves: I don't think I checked them against the errata, but when I was entering them, there were some obvious errors that I fixed when transcribing them.

Why are you taking it down soon though?

Mostly an organizational thing. I tend to use that games directory for my online game things; as my online games evolve, I sweep out the old and put new stuff in just to keep the clutter down.

I fixed some (I seem to remember there being obvious VP/WP progression typos). Can't guarantee that I fixed all of them.

I'd just like to get my hands on the charts reworked to show Ability & Rating, broken down by Threat Level (Rather than  Threat Level & Rating, broken down by ability).

(that way I can print out the chart for the threat level of the PCs, and fill in values on the fly)

May I ask what typos you're referring to?
