Well, one simple possibility is that at some point AEG's printers became their bitch. What with the cards and the books and everything else I wouldn't be surprised if, at it's peak (SG-1 through SC2.0 from the appearance) they couldn't tell the printer what they were going to pay. It would also have helped if the art people kept the bean counters locked in a closet for a year or so and the economics of the glossy, full color books was unsustainable if not outright unworkable.

However, some brick and mortar stores, like Hobbymasters.com (run by our own Number Three)...
Just to clarify, I don't sign the checks, I just run the game aisle.  Which isn't easy this time of year, as I usually get drafted onto another floor to fight on the front lines of the model train department.  Undecided

But we've still gotten an answer to the question "Who does Number Three work for?"  Tongue

That tends to happen around here. I believe this is all a set of references to that seminal espionage favorite, The Prisoner.

Actually, I was under the impression that Nepenthe was paraphrasing a line from Austin Powers (where he's beating up a minion asking who Number Two works for), then Pat said he's not a number, which is a song by Bob Segar and the Silver Bullet band. Really, the conversation would be hard to follow for anyone, I'm sure.
Some lyrics.

A rudementary Google search indicates there were probably less oblique references to be made than Seger, including Alex's reference to The Prisoner, which, apparently Iron Maden did a song about.

If you pay attention to my posts though I tend to go for the Classic Rock reference whenever possible, usually to several people's confusion as to my meaning. I apologize for the inconvienience.

That was a truly awesome confluence of confused references. Well done everybody!

The irony of this particular derail being that my handle is not a Prisoner reference.  Cheesy By now, it can best be described as a personal in-joke.

In case anybody's losing sleep over this, that was indeed my intention. (And I don't mean losing sleep). (And I'm again writing before going to work)  Roll Eyes

There is plenty to be happy with in the book. I may end up stealing large chunks for use in Delta Green. WoF is much more tempting than I expected, much closer to my tastes than Shadowforce Archer was. A chunk of my enjoyment might also be with seeing how well the Craig version of Bond fits in the setting. (Casino Royale was the first Bond movie that I have really enjoyed in decades.)

The Auld Grump, up late and wee mool....
