Just curious...i'm looking at the performance aircraft picks on page 240 under jets

Which one would best fit the VTOL capable AV Harrier II?

Um, what's wrong with the Fighter, jump jet?

The one in the book is closer to the AV-8B Harrier II Plus. If you want the USMC AV-8B drop the SEN (radar 5).

If you REALLY want to:
Halve the ammunition on the 20mm Gatling and claim it's the 25mm GAU-12/U or change the gun to the 25mm machinegun, tripple the ammunition and add GAT quality.
Drop max speed to 661 mph. Drop range to 1/jet fuel (Harrier has only 172 mile combat radius with 6,000 lb weapon load).

But really the Fighter, jump jet represents the Harrier well.

Wrong? I don't know either way, which is why I was asking which one fit the best.

Thanks! I've noted that they have poor endurance  Cry.

Let's see:
Change size to H (3x15, 15 rotor).
For the 30mm 2A42 cannon keep the 25mm cannon, but use 30mm ammo (it's big, heavy and reliable weapon and it's not mounted on a turret).
Control Increase, stage I, factory (co-axial rotors make it more maneuverable).
Drop range/fuel to 2/av gas (practical range with internal fuel is 520 km).
Add ejection seats (explosives separate the rotorblades before ejecting the crew).
RDD (crew, engine) (cockpit armor can withstand 23mm fragments and windows can withstand 12.7mm hits and engines can operate for 30 minutes after loosing all oil).

Danke, OverNinja. Once again, your customization suggestions help a newbie Spycrafter in making the transition to running military campaigns.

This question should be simpler: Do the C-130 Hercules and C-5 Galaxy both fit under "Transport, Heavy" on page 241 with a little modification to increase cargo capacity?

As an Air Force man, let me pull out my trusty Contrails...

According to what I was issued, the C-130 can haul 42klbs, or 21 tons.  The C-5 is 135 tons.  At those numbers, it looks like the Herc is a measure-fit to the Medium Transport and the C-5 is heavy.

For customization purposes, I'd put at least one control upgrade on the Herc- they do some crazy maneuvers with that plane.  "Combat" take-offs and landings are frigging ridiculous.  My Behavioral Science prof was a Herc pilot and he brought in videos of maneuvers in northern Alaska.  Siiiiick...
