Epoch

Any chance to get a little more info on the Epoch setting? I'm very interested in it I know it's probably a ways off yet, so I'm not looking for teases or the like but some more solid info about what the setting will be about, it's influences that type of thing.

So... a tease. ;)

Never fear. Information about all our fantasy settings will be hitting sooner than you might think.

not really a tease, just an brief overview of the setting all i know is that it's sword and sorcery toolkit. is it just that a toolkit or is there an actual setting in the book? and what are it's influences? Robert Howard, The Black Company, the Thieves World stories?

Fantasy Craft contains not one but six full settings ready for use. :)  Each emulates a different genre, for which there's also a mini-toolkit included (so you can easily build your own settings if you don't want to use the ready-made ones).

Epoch is the setting Alex is building as an example of the sword and sorcery genre. Howard is an influence, as are many others. For more info, watch the site... very soon. :)

Epoch is in Fantasy Craft, as are all the other fantasy settings you're hearing about from us.

We figured you'd want some choices. :)

Well if that's the case then i can wait, I don't know why I thought it was a stand alone.

You are having entirely too much fun teasing this.  Not even Scott is this blatant*  ;)

*(Honestly, sometimes I feel that Scott isn't doing it intentionally, he just teases by second nature.  Sort of a "natural flirt", but with game mechanics instead of eye batting.)

I have a player in my D&D game who can, and does, sing the entirety of that song....

So all those Christmas teasers? Here's what they were about.

You're gonna have to wait a whole week, but then it's twelve whole days of presents!

Merry Christmas!  ;D

I had no intention of getting Fantasy craft before all the Christmas teases began, but now I really don't know. These settings look like they are veering dangerously close to concepts that I've always wanted to use in a fantasy campaign.

The more folk tale inspired leanings of Sunchaser, but even more than that the Epic heroism and possible cosmic doom of Epoch has me thinking back to the Robert E. Howard Conan story the Tower of the Elephant, and Diablo II both where even the brightest victories are often pyhrric.

Now I can't wait to see what you fellas do with it.
