If this is even half as cool as its website, I shall be well stoked.

It cool looking, but I'm not sure I can get stoked about a retelling of the Wizard of Oz....

But that's me....

...a retelling of the Wizard of Oz....

Even if it features Zooey Deschanel and Alan Cumming?

I'll certainly be tuning in.

Give the Flying Monkeys H&K G36Es and Hand Grenades and turn the Tin Man into a Bradley Assault Vehicle.  And let the Wicked Witch be played by Madonna.  Then you'd watch...

I'm down with re-envisionings, but this one's a little blunt. I'll still watch because I like a lot of the talent involved, especially the aforementioned Zooey Deschanel and Alan Cumming (Zooooey), but I remain somewhat skeptical. At least the early visuals are cool.

I just watched the 30 minute 'Making of' for Tin Man. They've changed a LOT of things from the original story, but I'm going to have to wait until I see the actual show before I can decide whether that's a good thing or not.

Oh, and the Tin Man is, essentially, a hard-hearted Wild West Sheriff character. It's certainly going to be an interesting ride.

I've watched the first two installments of Tinman and I have to say I like it. In my opinion it's a good modernization of the books even though it bears little resemblence to the classic movie. I love the Steammpunk vibe of the O.Z. and the little homage's to the movie (The little bitch is off to see the wizard...). I'm really enjoying it. BTW you can see the first episode in full on the Scifi website.

I think that's if you live in America only - though it is available through the 'usual channels' for those of us in the rest of the world Wink

Just got back from  my friends house where I saw the final installment of Tinman. We find out this is not a remake but a continuation of the original books

I should have realized this when in the second episode

Ahh, that is VERY kewl, and explains a number of the stylistic decisions in the mini-series. I'll have to get a hold of the second and third parts now Tongue
