I wanted to ask a question without offending anyone (guys I don't mean any of you lovely people who make me laugh so)

As a vet' Rper time and time again I have come across nerdy lads and lasses who soooo want to be a 'James Bond types'

time and time again I have sat and cringed for said person trying to do any in game (and sometimes out of game) social interaction let alone seduction.

Now I know you guys do chase cards so you really don't have to think what you are doing.

Have you ever thought about social interaction cards or even 'seduction cards for skill checks' for when said player as to chat up NPC (We all know this is why they want to play 'James Bond Types' as he is useless at anything else. Give me Jason Borne any day).

Well?

Well?

Are you suggesting cards with mechanics or just "phrase cards" or something else?

Mechanics would be good but I don't know if you have played with someone who knows what out come they have wanted but ended up saying nothing or the wrong thing.

Do you think phrase cards would work?

Maybe it is something Glimmerat and I could try during the last week of his school holiday?

Maybe. I guess it would depend on the table...

Please do. I'm always interested to see how the social dynamics of different tables shake out, and this might even generate a new gaming tool. Bonus!

There is a Seduction dramatic conflict which allows you to gloss over the chatting up... Though it sounds like you want something more in-depth than that.

(Warning, not really a serious suggestion ahead:)

How about making something like insult swordfighting, only with a seduction slant? Match the snappy one-liner pickup line with an equally snappy retort. You'd start out fumbling in the dark, as it were, but you'd eventually learn the system (and that's when you upgrade the lines).

I guess you could do it if you transcibed movie & tv lines as part of the practice run.

I am playing a faceman with a decidedly, we'll call it seductive bent.
I like to think I'm better at social interaction than the average geek, but I'm certainly not as good at it as my character should be.
I would love to see this go somewhere.  Any rough draft ideas?  I'll keep an eye here for more developments.

Thanks
