Ghost in the Shell cyberpunk settings and fighting in giant robots are two things I have yet to see and i was wondering if a toolkit for either would ever come out?

Shatterpunk is the name for the cyberpunk setting. Maybe in Winter 07, maybe.

If my scattered mind remembers correctly S:D is the name for giant robot toolkit/setting thingy. Maybe available sometime in Spring 08.

We are looking at a firm Sci-fi giant battle robots setting under the mysterious heading C:S. It is, however, behind several more immediate projects.

One anime-like offering we are ramping up on with some new writers is a contemporary fantasy world that includes Witch Hunter Robin as suggested viewing. I also point to Lost Universe and Sol Bianca (original serires) as some of my earliest inspirations for Farthest Star. My roommates anime collections is one of the most formidable ever assembed by man, so I have lots of reference material around the house Smiley.

Shatterpunk will owe a debt to Ghost in the Shell to a degree, certainly, and the things one would expect from GiTS will likely be available (though Shatterpunk is still not at the cybershell/full AI level of tech for many in-setting reasons). We're still further out than Winter 07 though - IF things stay on schedule, we're looking more at first half of next year.

I've just been watching the Patlabor trilogy - man I love those films. Giant robots are ubiquitous to the setting yet simultaneously almost incidental in some respects to what's going on

At Mongoose's rate. It'll be Splatterpunk 2020...
Yes a referance to Cyberpunk 2020.

Since I've been using a printed, real live, physical galley copy of World on Fire to look up answers to questions about the fixer's class abilities all this week, I'm gonna guess it's a little closer at hand than that Cheesy.
