Supposing you were doing a Conan flick: who would you cast as the dark maned Cimmerian himself?

Also, There's a Conan themed MMORPG

Yup, Age of Conan. I demoed it at GenCon last year and I'm really excited about it. The central mechanic is Simon. You have five attack areas - upper and lower torsos on each side + the center - which are your basic attacks. At any time, some of your attack areas are lit up, indicating that you can attack there to start a combo. If you do, new areas light up, indicating the next level of combo available, and so on. They claim there are like 25-30 levels of combo per ability (!). Good stuff.

And the animations for the attacks are amazing. Very fluid.

Very fluid.

Red, viscous fluid to be exact. The demo at GenCon this year included blood which splased across your monitor when you killed someone.

Good.
Yeah, I've applied to the beta and put my fiver down on a pre-order. I expect carnage. Based on what's been previewed Barbarian looks like a solid choice, but I've got my eyes on the Herald of Xotli as the lord/lady of sudden and brutal surprises. I've got no love for casting. I need a meter of steel as my signature tool.

And Dwayne's not a bad choice really, just...not rough enough for it. Conan's not pretty and The Rock never had the menace he'd need to make it stick.

and  i wish i could see more of his acting talent, appearance wise Nathan Jones is perfect. http://imdb.com/find?s=all&q=nathan+jones

Dwayne's probably as ethnic as you could get before you started getting complaints about miscasting, too. Still, I would be far from unhappy were he cast - I think he'd do well at evoking the mighty cimmerian's often over looked sense of humour, and his stint in Doom was entertainingly menacing.

Kevin Sorbo's probably untouchable given he's already been Kull.

If you could get him as bulked and ripped as he'd need to be, Karl Urban would I think be really interesting as Conan.

Personally  I think Kevin is a bit overrated, plus like you said having played Kull and Hercules.

My reason for suggesting Dwayne is The Scropian King.  Good or bad, I did enjoy that movie for just being fun.

I must admit I was looking forward to a sequel that never materialised - but if it had it would have faced the EpIII problem of a decent into darkness that doesn't come off as kinda lame

Hey, I've been holding out for an Hour of the Dragon movie starring Ahnold himself.  Let him finish being Governator of Kellifornia, and then give him a year to get ripped back up in a gym (and does anyone *really* doubt he could if he put his mind to it?), and then let him play old Conan deposed by an evil wizard, who has to kill many many men to get his crown back.  I'd pay theater prices for that in a heartbeat.

well there is no doubt that he could physically get back to conan size, but will the movie do well. T3 was horribly lame and I generally do like Arnold and his movies.

I'd love to see Ahnold come back for a third. Stallone has made a successful comeback (twice if you count John Rambo).

The only problem I can see is that we'd have someone other than Basil Poledouris providing the score Sad

Not sure what made T3 seem lame to me but it just didn't have the same feel. There were parts I liked, just wasn't as likeable as the others. Maybe it didn't seem as dark as the others.
