Marines, Police set up mock zombie apocalypse
« on: October 27, 2012, 10:18:40 PM »
There will be a "Zombie Apocalypse" wargames scenario, including Marines, police, and spec-ops troopers.

True, they might be playing a bit fast and loose with the zombie lore (it's more an OpFor acting more unpredictably than normal, like a group hopped up on drugs for example), but it just goes to show how much a part of our culture zombies has become.

Now someone'll have to write a zombie story where the military is actually prepared for zombies...

I found the comments more interesting.  The general gist of them can be summed up by this one in particular

"Zombie Apocalypse" does sound silly, but can you imagine the disturbance it would cause if it were properly titled? How do you feel about "Extreme Civil Disturbance Reponse", or maybe "Imposition of Martial Law Training"?

Many individual soldiers have plans in mind for the zombie apocalypse.  Just sayin'.

(Also saying this sort of military preparation for great domestic disturbance should be watched with a large measure of concern.)
