... borrowing some ideas from the forum Wink It is forum based, and has just started, but I will tell you how it goes.

In case anyone (speaking spanish Wink ) wants to read it, http://thorontir.16mb.com/ But as I said, we have just started.

The group are a Mistborn, a Soother, a Coinshot and a former Hazekiller (The only one without powers). I have written just few "checkpoints", hoping to adapt the story to the way the like to play.

Hope I can tell you how is going for a long time, since it will mean the players enjoy it Smiley

As usual, please forgive my english.

See you!

Well, on the forum the campaing is still in progress, but forum play is so slow that we have not advanced much (Just introducing some antagonists, NPCs, and some info for them). We like to write more in the manner of novels than short turns as in table playing. But players reply as soon as I post something, so I think they are enjoying it Smiley And They had a couple of fights, and that was smooth even being on the forum...

In table, I have now 3 players more or less sure. If I found a fourth (There are two persons interested) we will probably start playing in table too.

I will look about that (Jornadas Lúdicas) since I am near, so maybe I can come and say at least hello Wink

See you!

Hi. Hope its ok to start up on the thread. I am starting my first Mistborn campaign with my group. I have three players that I've played with for years, but have never read the books. I've read the books and the forums for a while and have been excited to start a campaign. My group has a tendency to try power gaming and have a habit of finding ways to break systems so I wanted to play this a bit differently than normal. The setting is right around the time of the books (Vin and Kessler) and to keep my players in the dark about all the things that people at that time didn't know I have retyped the MAG and removed all info they shouldn't know. I gave them only small amounts of information on the powers and will give them the info on the metals that were known about in the books when they write up their character. They have the choice of how to present themselves to each other and how their powers work because only they get the info for that power. So far I have one Kandra, one that is thinking Terris, probably Keeper and one thinking Noble and hasn't decided on powers or not. They seem excited about the game and setting.

I am not a very experienced GM/ Narrator so I'm a bit nervous about running a campaign so character driven, especially when our characters tend to have so few goals besides "lets go kill all the bad guys." And trying to give them limited info on the game to keep them straight is quite a juggle to remember what they can and can't know yet.

I'd really like to hear what you all have to say and any questions are welcome. We typically play on Saturdays so I have time before the first session.

On thing that might quickly shape up a "let's all the bad guys" base is to make 2-3 named bad guys. Then make them bad. Make them vile. But make each player have a grudge against a different one of them so there's a real question of who to go after first and which players are willing to trade delayed gratification on their favored walking dead jerk to help someone else take down their's first. It can actually a bit of a bonding experience for the player characters and is nice for those moments when after a particularly rough go one player can turn to another and say "You so owe me for this" in a genuinely friendly way Wink.

Oh and don't be too intimidated - the players will never know how much you had planned out in advance and how much was improvising Cool. Until long after. When you tell them. And by then either possibility makes you look awesome.

Thanks Morgenstern. That's just about my plan. I'm hoping to be able to keep this running for a while so ill have several sets of villains. The one that each hates I'll probably try to tie into their tragedy/destiny. Then others for the group as a whole to hate or just have to deal with.

They have taken to character creation pretty well. They're creating backgrounds with more enthusiasm than I expected for having only part of the information about what the different powers do. Though I guess that also backfired in a way. The Kandra player is the one most likely to try to break the system and he turns out to be the only one with powers. Both the Noble and Terris have decided to go without. It may be because they don't know what they could do with them and choose to play it "safe" with the extra traits. Though they're both working well on their backgrounds. I should have their characters writeups in the next couple days with full backgrounds including extra material on their race and having talked with them about the world as they would know it.
