Hi Everyone!

I just bought the PDF and think that this is truly one of the most refreshing rulesets I've read in a very, VERY long time  Grin

Anyway, there's a bunch of us (about 17 players) here that just can't make GenCon this year. So we have decided to have our own Home Brew Con...LOL. One room will be boardgames and two rooms for tabletop RPGs. An entire weekend of nerdy goodness...this should be awesome, or a complete chaotic mess Smiley

None of us have played FC before so I've decided to run The Darkest Hour for one of the games. Will the Iconic Pre-Gens work well "as is" for the adventure or are they not the right "level" for the adventure. I'm not overly familiar with the system yet so I don't know how to gauge the difficulty level. I think the Pre-Gens are really well thought out and will make for a great one off.

The goal is to get our groups hooked on this awesome game!

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I run demos in my store using the iconics and The Darkess Hour. Works great, BTW.

Awesome...thanks for the quick reply! How many players do you typically have during a demo? I was thinking of using 5 - 6 of the pre-gens. Do you think that makes for a good balance?

Five or six players will be fine with Darkest Hour. Our GenCon games draw 7-8 per table, and they run just fine.

Welcome aboard, GameHermit!

The above may be conjecture, deliberate paraphrase, or outright bullshit.

Isn't the whole "roman numeral > look up on chart and match to party level" supposed to make a question of "right level" moot?

Sorry...just picked up the book yesterday and haven't gotten very far in my reading. I'm not used to scalable adventures....a VERY cool feature Smiley

You'll also want this. I don't even know how much prep time that has saved me.

Thanks Foghorn....that's a great resource!

There are a LOT of really good resources available on this site, some require a bit of searching.

In addition to the Iconics, the Downloads section has some other things I'd highly recommend you print to have on hand:

Fantasy Craft GM Screen Insert: An attractive four-panel, landscape insert
(http://www.crafty-games.com/files/File/Fantasy_Craft-GM_Screen-Michal_E_Cross.pdf)
^ +++ to this one!

Also, there's this that I threw together awhile ago for my own use when running demos for new players. I've found it to be very very useful.

I have s one page summary of action dice uses, including narrative control, if anyone's interested.
