Hello everyone!

I just got my copy of Fantasy Craft. As I've been reading the book and preparing and converting my now ex-pathfinder campaign I have an important question. Do I need the Adventure Companion or any other wooks to run the game properly? Also, is there any errata I need to keep in mind that correct or clearify the second printing? Also, as the only one with a copy of the book, until my players decide to purchase their own, I will be the sole source of material.

Thanks everyone!

Define properly? The AC provides a number of expansive options, but strictly speaking nothing that you absolutely need.

Pretty much this. The adventure companion has some cool settings. Rules-wise, the biggest thing you get out of the Adventure Companion is:
1) A dizzying array of species feats that really takes the species variety to the next level. Ever want to make a fantasy version of VINCENT from the old space opera movie The Black Hole? Or a night elf from WoW? Or a cyclops? These and more are in there.
2) Lots of interesting combat feats/tricks for players who really want to pin down their fighting style.

But nothing about the core book isn't "proper". If the settings don't interest you and you want to roll your own, you might consider buying the PDF and printing out the rules chapter if you want to cut costs.

Agreed.  You don't need the AC, but it is highly recommended for Chapter 4 for the extra classes and feats.

As for an errata, check the downloads section of Crafty's website for the most current one for your version of FC.

Thanks everyone. By proper, I mean doing it right. I don't like to do things half-way. So making the most available to my players is a definite goal. Are there any mechanics changes in the AC?

Thanks again,

No changes, just more options.  Classes, Feats, Tricks, just to name a few...

What do you mean? Huh?  It's not an errata document.

It's not an unfair assumption: a number of games have been known to change up rules in subsequent releases (oldWOD, I'm looking at you). Even World on Fire tinkered with the Contacts rules from the Spycraft 2.0 core book.

No, same core rule base, just some additional love for a lot of different things.

Do you need no, not at all the core book offers up a pretty awesome on its own.  That being said it is a very nice addition and well worth the money between the extra Classes & Feats (especially the species feats).

I think what everyone is trying to say is that you really don't need the Adventure Companion, but if you get it, you'll be glad you did.

Wow, that's great. Has anyone purchased the watermarked version from from Drivethrurpg? I'm curious how 'watermarked' it is.

It has your name and order number at the bottom of every page in smallish type.

I'm given to understand there's also some info hidden away in the file too that makes just removing that text insufficient to conceal it's source. Paizo's indirectly admitted they do something like that so I expect OBS does something similar.
