Looking at the Descriptie Armor rules (Fantasy craft, page 173, second printing), it seems no matter the quantity of fittings (gloves, boots, etc) the cost doesnt change. 1, 2 and 3 fittings costs 30s, while 4 and 5 costs 75s. What would be the prize a character wants to craft gloves or a helm?

I use a more complex version of the descriptive armor rules and for it I use a kinda abstract number that might not satisfy what you need but just in case: 5s + 5s for every fitting already made for this armor. But really, crafting fittings after-the-fact becomes complicated anyhow once you start looking at customizations, the number is likely to not match up anyhow, so if you want a flat number, I'd say 15s, you didn't know fittings came buy two get one free?

Well to be honest I think the prize doesnt matter to much, the flat 15s solves the problem with prize. Other problem with fittings is their complexity (for magic item creation purposes).

All this can be easily house ruled, I just wanted to know if I was missing something. Lets say 15s and 5D

If you want to make a magic helmet or gauntlets or whatever, just do so. Since one piece counts as light fittings, by itself it's light fittings.

It's not like D&D where it's important to account for the slot it uses.

As far as I understand you need at least 2 fittings to gain light fittings bonuses, and at least 4 to gain heavy fitting bonuses.

Saying a magic helmet counts as light or heavy forums by itself won't break the game.

If I had to put a price on producing a given fitting, I would use 20sp.  The reasons behind this are entirely mechanical and have absolutely nothing to do with any kind of real world costs or production values.  Light fittings cost 30sp and require at least 2 items and heavy fittings cost 75sp and require at least 4 items.  This means that you could produce individual pieces, but its more cost effective to produce everything as a set.  This is the simplest fix and likely what I would run with at my table.

However, you could alternatively put together another chart.
Vitals - 10sp
Forearms - 20sp
Feet - 20sp
Shoulders - 25sp
Head - 25sp

Whether vitals should be the cheapest fitting, I don't know.  Which fitting gets assigned which price is largely irrelevant.

These prices are chosen for the following reasons.

The 2 cheapest items (required for light fittings) total 30sp (the price for light fittings) and the 4 cheapest items (required for heavy fittings) total 75sp (the price for heavy fittings).

On the flip side, using the most expensive items you can't spend 30sp without purchasing at least 2 items and you cannot spend 75sp without purchasing at least 4 items.

The result is individual fitting prices that fall fully within the generalized prices listed in the core book.
