As part of my Ptolus conversion to FC I need an updated (post-Iconic Classes; FC-specific) Centaur species. I don't think this has been done yet (or my search-fu failed me), but pass me a link if I'm wrong.

I'm posting for review, and so others don't need to reinvent this particular wheel.

CENTAUR
[+1.0] Large (1×2), Reach of 1.
[+0.0] Quadruped Folk
[+0.0] Medium Weapons
[+3.5] Attributes: +4 to Str, Dex, or Wis; -2 to next highest attribute
[+2.0] Base Speed: 60 ft.
[-0.5] Aloof
[-0.5] Fatal Falls
[-0.5] Limited Proficiencies
[+1.0] Natural Attack: Kick I
[+1.0] Natural Attack: Trample I
[-1.0] Restricted Actions
[+1.0] Sure-Footed

Conversion Notes:
* Favored Classes: Removing this bumped the point total up by 1.0
* Medium Weapons: I'm guessing using Med weapons is point-neutral.
* Nat Attk: Original source lists grade III each; dropped to grade I to conform to wiki origin-building guidelines.
* Aloof: Added to partially balance loss of Favored Classes.
* Limited Proficiencies: Added to partially balance loss of Favored Classes.
* Aloof and Limited Proficiencies in particular were selected to match the flavor of Aram (centaurs) in Ptolus--plains barbarians with little understanding of "sitters".

I have a species feat for centaurs, if that will help any:

Hoof-foot Body:
Below your waist you have the form of a wild runner instead of a pair of sluggish stilts.
Pre: Pan, Medium size, Level 1 only.
Benefit: You have a hoofed quadruped lower body of Large (1x2) size with Reach 1 but you count as Medium sized creature for the purpose of handling items.  You gain a 50% increase to you encumbrance rating, kick I, superior runner I, superior traveler I OR superior jumper I (choose one), and your ground speed increases by 10 ft.  However your Climb and Tumble checks are always considered untrained, you gain fatal falls, and you suffer double the Speed penalty from broken leg critical injuries.

And now species feats--I need help with these. The observant will notice I 'borrowed' some of the feats from OotS: Light of Olympus.

SKY RAIDER
Sky Raiders undergo a mystical transformation, forming a bond that transcends tribe.
Prerequisites: Centaur
Benefits:
[ed. Intent here is to gain winged flight. Either keep without a lvl 1 restriction, or insert standard language about choosing another lvl 1 species feat.]

REDHOOVES TRIBE
Blah.
Prerequisites: Centaur, Level 1 only
Benefits: Your Strength score rises by 1. Further, the grade of your kick and trample natural attacks
increases by 1.

REDHOOVES ELITE
You embody the savage warrior spirit of the barbarian Aram.
Prerequisites: (?), Redhooves Tribe
Benefits:

BLUEHANDS TRIBE
Blah.
Prerequisites: Centaur, Level 1 only
Benefits: Your Wisdom score rises by 1. Further, you may use your Wisdom modifier instead of your
Intelligence modifier to determine the number of skill points you receive.

BLUEHANDS ELITE
Your opinion is highly valued as arbiter of inter-tribal conflict.
Prerequisites: (?), Bluehands Tribe
Benefits:

BROWNFACE TRIBE
Blah.
Prerequisites: Centaur, Level 1 only
Benefits: Your Dexterity score rises by 1. Further, you gain a bonus equal to your starting action dice
with Survival checks.

BROWNFACE ELITE
You have fully embraced the animal aspect of your species.
Prerequisites: (?), Brownface Tribe
Benefits:

I appreciate the post. Having a Centaur species is more extensible, however, so I think I'll continue down this path.

In another example of my typically awesome timing, 30 seconds after posting I run across 'Blankbeard's unofficial probably wrong guide to creating species feats'. Looks like I've got a bit of homework to do. Embarrassed

Understood.  I just did it my way so that human wouldn't be the only species that had such a variable base pool to choose from.

Species feats is always the hardest part of creating a new species.  Depending on how you envision these Centaur, you might consider letting them take some elf, orc, or ogre species feats.  If there's any that work for you, it saves a bunch of time and effort.
