Features: Low recoil.

Compared to what?  Being hit by a small train?

I would want that in semi-auto just for the recoil reduction...

(And how is that not an ATF destructive device?)

I would be content with one of these.

Perhaps bullpup should be an upgrade for most rifles?

Assuming it isn't a destructive device under the firearms act, probably because they're (ab)using the sporting rifle exemption. What exactly you would hunt with a 20mm shell, other then airplanes and light armor, I'm not sure though.

Behind an inch of mild steel.

But it likely is a NFA firearm due to the calibre, that it doesn't use a carrier bolt (if I remember the term right) and that most 20mm is explosive or armor piercing.

Those blue tips are training rounds.

Which are tracer rounds if memory serves. So those are also under the NFA.

Firing it a few times myself would be an interesting (shoulder-breaking) experience.

But if not likely to happen in good ol' US of A, certainly isn't going to happen in post-buyback Oz.

Krensky, do you have a citation for the section of the National Firearms Act that makes tracers a prohibited ammunition type?  While I've found several state laws that define tracers as "destructive devices," the relevant federal law - 18 USC § 921(a)(4) does not.  Furthermore, ATF's National Firearms Act Handbook (ATF Publication 5320.8 ) does not appear to contain the word "tracer."

I was mistakenly looking at the importation rules.

Considering the nature of federal prosecution, though, if you were being charged with other things the federal attorny might call them destructive devices under title 26 5845 f. Either as having more then a quarter ounch charge (if they do, no idea) or the wonderfully vauge (f) other clause.

However in double checking I learned there are non-tracer training rounds. The caliber means the rifle is almost assuredly a destructive device though.
