I guessed 2178 because Glimmer's character was retired after the Skyllian Blitz.  I doubt military paperwork has gotten any faster in 150+ years, so a year and some seems reasonable for him to get out, then add some time to get to Omega and get settled in.

I took a spin through Omega last night, damn 1GB patches, and did not see a single volus.  That's ok.  I've got a fallback plan.  (But I still want Lyssa to sit down next to Yuri in a bar, steal a cigarette and say "greeting Earth-clan.")

I think, given Omega's rep, you can have one there with no problem.

Also, I've now dumped a chunk of stuff into the Wiki - please put your characters on wiki pages linked to it.

I hope you don't mind, but I sorted that wiki page into the forum games section of the wiki, so it's easier to find.  It was uncategorized before, which I assume was an accident.  But, if you wanted it that way I can always put it back.

Regarding the start date, I do think after the Skyllian Blitz is best.  Glimmer's background relies on having lived through a major military action, and the Skyllian Blitz is a particularly well known one.

To my fellow players: I guess first off, who's playing?  I count myself (playing Sev'Teema, Quarian academic type), MillitiaJim (Lyssa, Asari mercenary), and Glimmerat (Yuri the retired cranky Human biotic soldier).  Mr Anderson mentioned playing an Asari, but I haven't seen any more on that front.  foproy and nfactor also seemed interested, but again I haven't seen any more about it.

Second, how do we know each other?  Have we worked together before, or maybe we're all being gathered for this job?

My character is up on the wiki, http://www.crafty-games.com/index.php?q=content/sevteema-nar-veysa.  I don't know what we're doing about gear so I left it out.  Also, I don't remember if I said I was going to go with hacker, or just thought that, but I went with Scientist instead.

I added Lyssa to the wiki.  Incomplete but there.  http://www.crafty-games.com/index.php?q=content/lyssa-t%E2%80%99vres

I'm thinking Raptor or Sniper for an expert class later.

Which specialist ammunition do y'all think is best?

And how do I attach the Lyssa's wiki page to the upper Omega level?

when you created it you should have been in the omega page and added a child page.

You can do it after the fact too.  When you're editing the page, there is an expandable section below the text box called book outline with some dropdown menus.  You want to add the page to the "Crafty Games Wiki" book, and the "Life and Death in Omega" parent item.  You can ignore the weight, it's just used to override the default alphabetical sorting of pages.

How close are we to having all the players in, with characters, statted up?
My impression at this moment is that we're likely a week out from actually being able to set things rolling.

Lyssa needs gear and to allocate her skills, plus a bit of back story adjustment.

(I still hate the SMG/Rifle/Shotgun split.)
