Sev just needs gear and related things.  For instance I don't know what we're doing about a ship.  Handling it as a holding was mentioned, but I don't know what that means in practice since Spycraft doesn't have holdings.

I think either of the Big Score options for gear will work fine for this.  Cash n Carry works a little better if we're completely on our own, whereas Stockpile works better if we are going to have occasional support from an established organization.

And of course we still don't know what our current relationship to each other is.

@foproy.  We do seem to have space, but I personally would like to get moving on this, so maybe you could settle on a concept and get to the background, stats, and contacts parts.

Unrelated: I had forgotten just how much I hate skills in 2.0.  They really are a nightmare.

Roll with it. It's not like I'm going to have you dodging turbolaser blasts in whatever poor sod's stolen spacebarge you steal or anything...

Actually, I very well might make you dodge turbolasers.

zanes commanders from the stg that he watched to many vids as a child, those who flew with him said otherwise. he seemed to glean a certain talent from watching them and many maneuvers he attempted were taken straight from these sources. it was this style of flying that got him discharged from the group, despite being one of the best young pilots they had. up until a few months ago he was running a decent "import export business till he lost a cargo for an influential turian now he is hiding on omega.

It's been more than a week since Mr. A or nfactor said anything.  Maybe we should just start and let the stragglers catch up when they can?

Am I correct that these are the concepts we've got so far? I only see 2 of these on Wiki pages (so Foproy and Glimmerat probably need to finish statting up)

I'm adding more stuff, and changing the tale a bit, to Lyssa's contact being the turian running the kitchen near the elcor and batarian shops.  Oh, and incendiary ammunition.   Grin

Honestly, I'd really wanted to the PCs to do the heavy lifting in terms of figuring out who they work for/owe a favor to, but it seems like that's not happening. Similarly, I'd hoped the PCs would figure out how (or if) they had a ship, but 11 days later or so, that also doesn't seem to be happening.

Given the circumstances and in the interest in moving forward with the game, here's what I'm going to do --

This weekend, likely Saturday AM (EST), I'll post the first IC turn (in a new thread of course) setting the opening scenario In Media Res and fast-forwarding through the "here's the job" scene -- I will give each PC the chance to declare and narrate a downtime skill check handled via a Flashback to represent their off-screen preparation for the job.

I will try and reskim The Big Score to give some better guidance in terms of gear -- again, I'd really love advice from glimmerrat in terms of how he'd envision gear to work best within the Mass Craft paradigm, but at this point I'm leaning toward the Stockpile option for pure ease of use, even though I recognize that Cash n' Carry better replicates the 'seedy underworld' approach.

Next week will be a lot of business travel for me, I may be able to post on Monday, highly unlikely that I'll be able to make any additional major posting until Thursday/Friday

I don't think anyone has enough rep for more than a beat up, stripped down shuttle?

I think it would be at least 10 Reputation to buy a shuttle with no FTL capability?

you could count each of our living quarters as all adding up to a ship. we serve on a ship that has ftl capabilities.

Reputation is given out as mission rewards, so we could together have enough from prior adventures to have a small ship.

We could also be crewing a smaller freighter, extra crew for more dangerous territory/more valuable cargo.

At this point, I'm planning on having you infiltrate/hijack a ship as part of the mission. So less of a concern.
