Toy Story: Partysaurus Rex
Quoth the duck: "Oh man, I wish we could get the party started up in here. No more tears!"

Get the Part Started,
Up in Here.

Two party track references, one sentence.
Not bad.
Edit: and one Ozzy. Zounds.

Remember those Robocop set pics? Here are slew more, this time much closer up and showing off the helmet.

Yeeech. The new suit continues to suck so very hard compared to the original.

We may not agree on much, but I am right there with you man.  That sucks out loud.  I really hope there's extensive post to make it not ugly.  Oh and the hand - still with the random hand.

The original did a great job at the time of making him look part man part machine - that just looks like a guy who wants to be a higher tech Batman (sans cape) and lost one of his gloves.

I delude myself by thinking they're going to CGI the chrome on over the matte black. Bring on the chrome! It probably won't happen, but I can dream.

I suspect that it's intended as a call out to the line from the 1st movie where a surgeon says that they've managed to save one of Murphey's arms only for a suit to tell them to amputate it anyway in order to avoid legal complications.

Personally, I think the whole thing without the helmet or the glove is just to get the actor ready for the shot.

The helmet may be a bit warm and restricts visibility and the glove is probably fashioned in such a way it's rather difficult to pick things prior to the shot.

Then again, the movie could just be utter crap.

This seem a little contrary, but I actually think the costume choice makes sense. In a world where actual cops often wear black uniforms, carry powerful firearms, and occasionally body armour, a guy sporting a bit of chrome simply doesn't cut it any more. They need to have the Slimline Vader to make him stand out from the crime-fighting crowd.

An interesting analysis of the old suit vs. the new.

I agree with the basic thrust of his argument, but the problem lies in (a) the genericness of the new design, and (b) the almost utter lack of visual interest or texture to it. The colourlessly embossed OCP logo and police badge are a case in point.

Bah!

I just count on them ignoring the original and going to see it anyway.  For reference, I enjoyed - not loved, but enjoyed - the new Total Recall.

In other news, I saw Looper this past week.

Spoiler: show

Meh.  I didn't waste my money on a last minute, during the midle of the week ticket and the theatre was damn near empty so I got a great seat.

The movie had all the right parts but never rose above action flick with interesting but never explained backstory.  (Keep in mind, I'm a fan of NOT explaining the tech as action films do it so poorly.)

The ending ...
Gah! Can't a time travel movie NOT do the whole, time looping on itself crap!?  Did we really need the voice over to explain to us why Joe had to shoot himself?  I think the ending pushed this movie even farther down in the dirt for me.
