Dredd trailer: Yup, the makers of this one must be pissed The Raid beat them to release.

Blocked by Lionsgate.

Is this the same trailer?

I didn't particularly like that trailer and I really really wanted to.  Undecided

Given The Raid basically pre-empted them, whomever cut that trailer had the responsibility of making Dredd look like something other than that film with a better effects budget. So, their utterly pedestrian first year film school attempt made a huge mistake in choosing to undersell the setting and reducing Dredd to a direct-to-video action guy in ill-fitting armour with all the depth and personality of a crepe.

In fact, not only does it leave me feeling doubtful about this film, it also makes me feel more particularly well disposed to the Stallone film than usual despite the almost crippling presence of Rob Schneider.

Yup, that's the one. I have to admit, I was underwhelmed by the trailer as well. This film does need to distinguish itself from The Raid and so far it hasn't. There isn't much of the setting here, which I suspect means there isn't in the final cut either (and that would be a crying shame). Plus, La Roux? I mean, I love her, but in a Dredd trailer?

It's not an abomination or anything, but it does all feel a bit off.

Taken 2 international trailer: Much better than the U.S. trailer.

The Prototype: This is from the Bandito Brothers, the dudes behind Act of Valor. I might give it a whirl. Probably not until DVD though.

Hotel Transylvania trailer: Hm. I liked the teaser much more. Now that I'm seeing more footage from this, it's giving me a strong Mad Monster Party vibe. 'Cept, you know, nowhere near as awesome.

I'll be seeing Taken 2 for certain. Like the cast and would love to be closer than that wall to Maggie Grace (ever since Lost).

As for Prototype, I'll be interested to learn more. I think it has an interesting enough premise that it will be worthwhile.

So...

Abe Lincoln, Vampire Hunter is fun. Rediculously over the top and silly, but fun.

It also has some great visuals for the Axe chain, and a awesome sequence demonstrating what the Partner chain is all about.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha. That's one of the more terribly amusing trailers I've seen in a long while.

Well, that's ... that's certainly a movie that someone made on purpose.

It's funny because it's true.

I'm hard-pressed to name a production that disappoints me more than this one. The Book of Vile Darkness was an awful idea in print; turning it into a movie - or even using the name as inspiration for a movie - isn't just lazy or exploitative, it's degrading. The people behind this tripe should be ashamed of themselves, but instead they'll parlay the shock press from this stunt into what I can only assume will be a profit. I mean really, what was their budget? A couple hundred thousand, tops?

It seems like a few young fans got their hands on some loot.

As bad as The Book of Vile Darkness is, they could do worse.
