Those suits have kind of a Mass Effect vibe to me.
Anyone else?

Not player of Mass Effect, but those oversized helmets seem to be some sort of throwback to the old-school scifi of the 40s and 50s.

Strangely enough, the red suit looks somewhat similar to the leaked photo of Spock from the new Trek movie.

Well, the big helmets look good on screen and let you see the actors.

I haven't seen the Spock picture, link?

Spock's suit

I just found this one... never occurred to me that the suit also resembled the one from an earlier Trek film as well.

There's that... and the tightness of the suits (which really looks good on Ms. Theron by the way)

Something like that is also under development in real life.  It looks very much like a wetsuit, but still functions as a presure suit so the occupant can go rock climbing on mars and the like.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Your first "full" Prometheus clip: "Prometheus has Landed"

Seems largely spoiler-free, but I'd still steer clear if you're trying to be safe.

Also, here's a video blog about the Lizard from the new Spider-Man flick.

Last year at Comic-Con, a very brief, incredibly crappy trailer for the Amazing Spider-Man ran in front of the Captain America premiere. Nearly everyone I talked to afterward was deflated about the movie.

Then we started getting some interesting stills and clips, culminating in that rather spiffy full trailer in front of the Avengers.

Guess what? That previous trailer pales in comparison to the first minute of this.

Go. Watch. Smile. *

* This endorsement not intended as a disparagement of Sam Raimi's wonderful 2.35 movies, which remain a love song to one of the greatest super heroes ever to come out of a human brain. Still, there's more to the character, and holy hell if this movie doesn't look to be hitting all those bells with a Norse god's hammer.

Saw a trailer for Spiderman last time I was at the cinema, and I was very impressed.  I've gone from "meh" to "really looking forward to it" in a fairly short time.

I'm jonesing for both films. I think this new Spiderman will be better than Raimi's stuff.

There was one line I've seen in any of the Spidey trailers so far that actually makes me want to see the movies. It's when Spidey's confronting a mugger who pulls out a knife. "Oh no, you've found my only weakness! Tiny knives!"

I love that this movie's bringing back the smart-ass Parker so popular in the 80's. I loved that rude dude.

I'm going to be a little black raincloud for a sec: if the 3D trailer on the front of Avengers is any indication, Spider-Man will be the movie that finally kills this overpriced gimmick. Because that trailer in 3D was unwatchable. The movie might be fine. I'll see it in 2D.

But then, I found the 3D in Avengers completely superfluous, and absolutely not worth the extra price of the ticket. I'll ring the gong when this fad ends. I won't watch another 3D film.

If it ain't worth it in 2D, why would I bother starting with the 3D anyway?

I'm very much with Roger Ebert on 3D. We already have most of the cues for seeing 3 dimensions in a traditional well-shot "2D" movie; 3D effects feel forced to me and if anything, make me feel less immersed.
