Brave Trailer 3

Brave: Eyes on the Pies

Those are getting all the play today, but I was just as amused by...

Hotel Transylvania looks pretty awesome and I'm cautiously optimistic about G.I. Joe.  Also I'm a huge Pixar fan, so I can't wait for Brave.

Looks like The Avengers shouldn't just be anticipated for the movie - as expected by anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of cinema marketing, pretty much all the geek-fests of the year will be rolling out new trailers in front of it.

Meanwhile, there's some interesting debate over the new 48 fps (frames per second) footage coming out of The Hobbit. I'll withhold judgment until I see some of it, but I will say that I find watching most current HD broadcasts a little off-putting. I like the format for some stuff, like concert recordings and animation, but scripted live action material often comes off like that unfortunate season of the Twilight Zone (see the second-to-last paragraph past that link for what I'm talking about - it was pretty awful).

Oh, and here's the international trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Some interesting new footage in there.

In college I took a class about communicating through film and we all had to do papers. Most went for Spielberg, Scorsese, Coppola, Cameron, even George Lucas but I was the only one to focus on Ridley Scott. As an enormous fan, I was there for this the moment I heard he was in pre-production.

I did a similar subject as an elective a couple years ago.  We had the same kind of spread in my class.  I did Uwe Boll: Visionary Genius.

My buddy saw The Avengers 2 days ago and nothing of interest was before it at the cinema she went to (she's an Aussie too).  It's a shame we miss out and I need to find dodgy cam recordings. Sad  I really wanna see Batman and Spiderman trailers in non-cellphone definition...

Not surprising though - every time a big trailer / first minutes of something is announced as before a film it never seems to come here.  Do our other non-American and non-Australian members find the same thing?

Argh, I know exactly what you mean: hell, it's rare that they'll even bother with the more recent trailers. When I went to see John Carter, they were still showing the teaser trailer for Prometheus even though the proper trailer was out before the movie debuted.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. High-quality versions of the trailers are virtually guaranteed to hit the web the same day.

True, but trying to find a watchable version of the Batman opening that you guys got was basically impossible last year.  Originally I thought people were overreacting to Bane's voice because of the video quality.  I wanna see far more then Spiderman (which still has me interested) it to see if they've changed how he sounds or done anything to it after the public reaction.

To be fair, that wasn't a trailer. That was a promotional video intended only to be shown in IMAX theaters to folks who paid to see MI:4. Sorta the difference between our A House of Ashes (as it stands now, with it part of the Digital Edition) vs. the Mistborn Adventure Game preview (which is free to everyone).

Avenger premiered today here in Spain and a few hours ago i saw it. It's all I expected and much much muuuch more. For me, its the best Marvel movie so far. Whedon knows exactly what he has in his hands and delivers a great action movie, with great characters and unforgetable moments. And so many great whedonisms! Amazing!!

Erm, were you being ironic, perchance?  Or is there another Uwe Boll that I don't know about?

Yeah - my tutor's first comment was "You think you're clever, don't you?"
