ComingSoon.net is reporting that The Wolverine now has an official release date, despite all the delays - and that date is July 26, 2013.

The Wolverine is to be directed by James Mangold, and will follow up on the somewhat disappointing X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The film is to be an adaptation of Miller and Claremontís critically acclaimed mini-series, focusing on Loganís adventures in Japan.

While I'm remaining cautiously optimistic, the news that Darren Aronofsky departed the project stills has me a little depressed.  I would have absolutely loved to have seen his vision of The Wolverine.

Still, James Mangold has done some good work - I enjoyed Identity, Copland and the remake of 3:10 to Yuma a lot.  So hopefully it turns out as a good film - so long as it's entertaining and doesn't butcher another favourite character of mine.

Completely agree. Very disappointing news.

The The Bourne Legacy Trailer ... It looks excellent. You may ask how is it a Bourne film without Matt Damon? ... This film is about a successor in the program where Bourne was the first of many so Albert Finney, David Straithairn, Scott Glenn, and Joan Allen are reprising their roles. Add in Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton along with Jeremy Renner. ... This has awesome written all over it. Release date is currently August 3rd, 2012.

Enjoy....

It's actually based on a rather interesting book written by Eric van Lustbader, who took over the book series after Ludlum's unfortunate passing. The book was fun, and even a new Bourne trilogy hater like me can appreciate how this might do great, great things for the franchise. I'm looking forward to this one.

MMmmm. That's either going to be epic, or epically lame. There's not going to be any middle ground for that one.

Sweet, a release date.  Heard about this ages ago and been waiting for it.  I'll echo Gentry's sentiments - epic, or epically lame.  I hope for the former.

As a fan of the Bourne movies but not the novels (one of the few times that has ever happened), I think that the new film will be just fine.

---~~---

Yep, Iron Skies only has two ways to go.  Sadly, based on that trailer, I am afraid it will not be the good way.

I think I remember seeing a teaser trailer for Iron Sky a couple of years ago.  Looked intriguing then and like a fun romp now.  Sort of like Mars Attacks.

Peter Jackson adds Billy Foakiní Connolly to the cast of The Hobbit

Even with principal shooting of The Hobbit nearly done, Peter Jackson has one late addition to the castó comedian Billy Connolly will be playing Dain Ironfoot, a great dwarf warrior and cousin of Thorin Oakenshield. And now, this is one of the greatest fantasy movie casts ever. EVER, SIR.
