Grandmother sniffs her own arm pit, and makes a disgusted face."Better to smell like an ox's ass, then to look like one dear.", she chuckles with a mooning smile at the Kilshandra. "But enough girl talk, keep your wits about you. The beast that's following them, most likely left the marks that on the Jarl's body. That makes its a man eater, and I don't want to end up as desert.", she says loading a poisoned dart into her blowgun.

"Maneater it may be, but I doubt all the savagery we have seen this day can be laid at its feet."

"Now, now don't get testy, just because poking around that corpse was the longest you've held a man in years. Speaking of which, what did you learn, while you dallying with the dead?", she queries.

[Mister Andersen]

"Long term relationships are overrated" Killishandra shakes her head ruefully. "They start wanting you to do strange unnatural things... like respect them in the morning. Something I'm sure you've never had to worry about anyone asking of you."

"Only about how to end them," she answers. "The processes of death, what led up to them: such conversations are most instructive for maintaining the happily single and... unfettered lifestyle that I prefer." (click to show/hide) Again, you have to imagine Killi's half of the conversation taking place in a gruff Russian accent.

"My kind does not experience the weakness, that humans call love. We experience only desire. Burning, raging desire. I've had six husbands in my lifetime, and countless lovers. Each one slew the previous to take me as his own. In the end it, lead to my down fall and destruction of the Eastern Wing of the Southern Hoard.", she says with a sadness to her voice. "Fortunately you'll never experience that half breed.", she says recovering her composure.

"Naturally it is hard to experiece something others have destroyed," she agrees philisophically. "Your story reminds me of a saying in my father's homeland: there are two tragedies in life. One is to lose your heart's desire. The other is to gain it."

Ok another survival check for tracking.
A Survival/Tracking roll vs the villains’ Sneak. Track modified as follows: prey speed +2, +2 for ‘Size’, soft snow +4, per hour of snow-2 but starts at 5hours -10max, and I'm going to apply -2 for poor lamp light TOTAL=-4 or -2 if darkness is not an issue for the tracker.

Killishandra moves forward to help with the task of tracking. Oddly enough she draws her black-bladed sword while so engaged. It almost seems she uses it like a dousing rod at times, muttering under her breath in a foreign tongue then pausing as if listening to a response no one is there to give. Vash went to scout ahead, complete with rolls in a previous post. He sees in the dark just fine. 

Protected by Grandmother's magic, Vashkar is in no danger from the cold air... but still it endeavors to defeat him. It gnaws at him where, of necessity, his clothing is thinnest. Even doing his best to splay his long toes as he walks, his feet sink deep into the fresh powder, leaving large duck-like tracks and slowing him down. Yet his feet were not numbed... no, that would almost seem merciful... they burned from the cold.

Over the thickest drifts, the draku drops to a quadrupedal stance, the better to disperse his weight and keep him from sinking in. Moving in this manner he looks like an awkward beast indeed, a trundling, snow-dusted mound of heaped hide and fur. It keeps him close to the tracks, however, and even as the light grows dim, he is still able to follow them.

Hearing Bolo's comment about the cold, the draku utters a grunt of agreement. He straightens up and looks back, concerned, but relaxes when he sees that Grandmother is attending to the pech.

"We must press on as long as we can... we may grow tired, but the ones we chase have made this same journey twice, and then some.... depending on where we catch them. They will grow tired as well."

Since Killishandra seems to be doing as well at following the tracks as he is, the draku takes another scouting flight before the light gets too dim... somewhat concerned that if the snow continues to fall, the clouds may block out enough illumination from the sky that even the half the group that sees well in the dark will have trouble.

When he comes back down, he will take up the back of the group to keep an eye out for trouble from behind.
