Or are going in a different direction than he wants to.

Though given that their live beta phase is in a month or so, that suggests that they've done most if not all of the ground work on the new mechanics.

He does say his problem wasn't with the others on the D&D Next team. I suspect it's more an issue with corperate higher-ups causing problems for him.

Looking forward to see what hte playtest is like, and what I can steal for my FC game, I like some of the ideas I've heard there Wink

Hmmm, sounds like something went live before it was meant to. Because I saw that entry with my own eyes.

I followed your link earlier this morning. The listing had an expected ship date of 09/18/2012 and a B&N price of $19.95 marked down from a MSRP of $29.95. No item description but it did have an ISBN which I wish now that I had saved since my browser cache doesn't seem to have it and I never owned 3.5 to reference.

DnD is packed full of good ideas.  Where things fall apart is the execution.  That's why this book is one of my favorite RPG books ever.

I'm supposed to get a playtest packet in a bit.

I kind of gave up on being remotely curious as to how 5E would turn out, but since I've stayed off the D&D forums for a  long while, I'm willing to give it another go.

The first #dndnext play test document reads like Fantasy Craft for people who are afraid of options.

Sounds good to me  Grin

I've glanced at it so far. I didn't get any character-making rules. I'm planning a half-day at work and with the extra-long weekend, perhaps I'll kick back some Blue Moons and try to make heads or tails of what they did send me.
