RIP, MCA.
You were...extraordinary. Epic. Razor wits on the mic, but actual heart in the Man.
You will be missed. My sympathies and thoughts to go your brothers.

Maurice Sendak, author of Where The Wild Things Are, dies at 83

Maurice Sendak, the wildly talented, often cantankerous children’s book author and illustrator of Where The Wild Things Are, has died. He was 83 years old.

“I refuse to lie to children,” Sendak told The Guardian in an interview last year. “I refuse to cater to the bullshit of innocence.”

Maurice Sendak was freakin' cutting funny on the Colbert Report.
I'd not conceived of cantankerous as a virtue before, but Sendak did a lot to validate the concept.
If there's an afterlife, I hope he's seated next to George Carlin.
They'd get along famously.

Rest in peace, Mr. Sendak. Sad

Sendak and Dahl were among my favorite writers when I was very young. Acerbic, bitter wit, for the young.

Long and illustrious career, lived to 62, spent a good portion of his life as a millionaire. He had a good innings.
