Ain't It Cool had a nice tribute with some of his art, just for those that need to refamiliarize themselves with his work...

Something more local: James O'Rance, a fixture of the Sydney RPG scene, passed away on Friday.

Welsh actor Philip Madoc dies age 77.

Folks of a certain age will doubtlessly recall his many memorable appearances, frequently as a villain, in the classic era of Doctor Who.

We all have our sources of inspiration as we write (or draw). Sometimes this muse is populated by the women (or men) in our lives.

Dan DeCarlo's muse, his wife Josie DeCarlo, passed away this past week. Dan died back in 2001, but Josie served as his inspiration for the comic "She's Josie" and later on... "Josie and the Pussycats".

CBR had an article.

Professor MAR Barker has passed away peacefully, with his wife of 53 years at his side. He was aged 83. More details can be found here

http://www.tekumelfoundation.org/PressRelease-MARBARKER-1929-2012.pdf

Professor Barker was the creator of the world of Tekumel, which was first released to the gaming public in a gloriously illustrated box set edition, called Empire of the Petal Throne, in 1976. The world has a small, but dedicated fanbase. The game has had a troubled history, with several editions being released over the years, the most recent being the last release Games of Order did before the company folded.

Joel Goldsmith: He composed music for tons of properties, most notably Stargate and Star Trek (He was the one who gave us that spectacular SGU score.) He was also the son of the late, legendary Jerry Goldsmith. who gave TV and film more than almost any other composer in history.
