But did you catch it in the Boys' Life comic serial?

I credit The Tripods with triggering my lifelong love of post-apocalyptic media.

But did you catch it in the Boys' Life comic serial?

I did. Every single strip. I wish they'd go back and collect those in a book, actually. They'd have at least one guaranteed sale right here - even with the inferior alien designs of the novels (the TV series did a much better job on that front).

They never collected them? I'd have expected Andersen to have a link posted by now.  Smiley

Edit: It looks like we're not the only ones nostalgic for 80s comic adaptations.

Whitney Houston has died. Regardless how she may have died or when (neither is specified in the article), Whitney Houston had a powerful voice that was iconic in the 80s-90s. This cannot be disputed even if you did not like her music. ... RIP Whitney...

It can also be a pointed reminder of just why drugs are a disease and not a choice.  Poor woman.

To be fair, drugs are a disease you choose to contract, but that doesn't diminish the tragedy of Houston's fall (and now early demise).

Oh, very much true.  The initial exposure is absolutely the person's own fault.  Its just everything else afterwards gets a little gray.  Either way.. it's always a sad end.

For those of you don't know, Ralph McQuarrie is single handedly why Star Wars was cool. He's the reason we got Stormtroopers and Darth Vader and Boba Fett. He was one of the greatest concept artists of our time, and his absence from this world will make it a less awesome place.
