Officially My Favorite RPG ever. Why?
« on: December 16, 2011, 03:50:44 PM »
The "how to run an adventure" section. Admittedly, as an experienced GM/DM, I know most of this already. However, this has to be the first time I've seen such a collection of good advice in print. Specifically, the inclusion of:
- Not letting rules/story get in the way of fun.
- Good advice on figuring out difficulty/modifiers out; and, most importantly:
- The probability of each size of dicepool succeeding at a given difficulty. For d20 systems and most dicepool systems, this is easy. For more (mathmatically) complicated systems like this one, this is a godsend to OCD narrators/GMs/DMs like myself :3

Thanks for the kudos! It's great to hear you like that Book.

Moose (Kevin Boerwinkle) was a godsend for the Difficulty section. We nearly broke his poor computer running the simulations.  :)

The section on Destinies/Tragedies is really useful too, though it's hard to do if you don't have an hour or two to sit down and ponder. I've been running a week-long campaign now that Uni's out for the winter, and I've found that with the pace we're going at, I haven't really had a chance to work much of this in.

That whole chart thing.  I hadn't noticed it.  Beautiful.  I posted on FB ten minutes ago that I wished I knew the odds of success.
