So.. we had 2 character deaths this week... and they chose not to Cheat Death.. as they had a better grasp on the system and wanted to try some new characters.  (To which I was actually really happy about.)  I tell them if they can roll up fast enough.. back story and what not.. I'll get them at least re-introduced to the party and such.  They scurry off to generate some chars.

We hear whispering.. some laughter.. and a "That's perfect!".. and then page flipping.

So.. they come out with my laptop and their character sheets.  To which I become puzzled and I'm like.. "What's with the laptop?"  They proceed to play Chevelle's music video for "I Get it".  Utterly confused at this point.. right up until it gets to the Clown.  Instantly, I start laughing and shaking my head.  Nope.. it is what I think it is.  One of them wants to the clown from the video.  The other?  The clowns enforcer.  A FantasyCraft version of Josh Koschek.

Its a good concept.. and it encourages teamwork.. so I laughed and said okay.

Just wondering what other goofy yet awesome concepts players have come up with from across the RPG-verse?  ...or inspirations for NPCs that the GC just couldn't wait to drop on the party.

Does an 'Venitian' noblewoman and her 'English' seadog husband who abused the shit out of the Wolfpack and Partner chains count?

I suppose three of the ships officers from the same game would count. The Armstrong triplets. Whose mother (Prudence) had issues with naming them.

Chastity, ship's purser and mage. Bit of a tart. Well, ok, doxy or trollop are probably more accurate.
Temperence, ship's mate. Severe anger management issues (Rage chain and RP), functional alcoholic.
Patience, ship's engineer. Mad scientist, heavily inspired by Agatha Hetrodyne.

Of course, they were also all besotted by the ship's coxswain and really not interested in sharing and did not respond well to him spending time with one of the other sisters.

My brother and I once played entertainers ("we are <clap> the Gentleman Adventurers! Thank you, thank you very much."), and treated every encounter as though it were a Ren Faire comedy bit.

I once played a Gnome Bard whose instrument was a one-man band.

I ran a group where they players spontaneously during character creation decided to create a touring band.
Bizarrely this was a Ravenloft game, of all settings to do it in.

Dude, that's the Ultimate setting to do it in! Meddling kids in a touring band who fight evil? Right on.

That was a cool video, I'd never heard of Chevelle until now - so thanks for that.

Oh, and weird characters are our groups baseline...  But I will admit the clown + Koscheck in fantasy is pretty unique.
