Hey everyone,

We're in the process of moving to a new server and some of our settings haven't quite made the transition yet. Apologies for the wonky forum theme (or lack of one), and any other weirdness you may find anywhere on the site.

Please do use this thread to let us know if you spot anything that hasn't already been mentioned.

Thanks!

Wow, almost posted a new thread before I saw this one. I'll hold off on complaints for now, I'll assume you're still working on it...

It also looks like we lost several hours of forum traffic - including all my posts about the latest Mistborn update (which is also missing - sigh).

Alex is the man with the plan for this and he's just polishing off Guy Fawkes' day celebrations - or perhaps they're just getting into full swing. Regardless, he's not likely to be in a position to deal with it for several hours, at least.

Sorry for the inconvenience gang! We'll get it sorted as soon as we can.

It's good to hear that the public sector isn't the only ones who have upgrades go sideways... Good luck Alex!  Server upgrades suck!

We think we have most of the issues resolved but several hours of forum traffic were indeed lost. Be sure to check to see if any posts you wanted made were actually made.

Also let us know if you run into any other issues site-wide.

Thanks!

It looks more like the better part of a day and a half, Pat.

Well, it was several hours of my traffic. I've been busy, so I have no idea how much we lost before that.

The link to go back to the parent page (so for this thread, the one that takes you back to the Customer Service forum) is missing from the bottom of the page

I have to second this.  I never realized how much I used that link until it wasn't there.  After reading through a page worth of posts, it was much more convenient to have the button on the bottom of the page that allowed you to move up one level in the forums than having to scroll back up to the top of the page.  I tried just using the back button, but since that doesn't reload the page, the new status of the forums and topics is not updated until I manually refresh the page.

While we're nitpicking, I'm not a fan of the tree navigation links.

To put this to rest - the transfer did not go as smoothly as we would have liked. I count myself lucky to have brought the template as far back from the beyond as I did, and to have recovered as much data as I did. I have no idea why the design is not behaving correctly (such as the changed tree links at the top and the loss of the link at the bottom).

My plan going forward, time permitting, is to do a full version upgrade to SMF 2.0.1 which will doubtless ruin our layout anyway. So this is a transitional version anyway - we'll probably be looking at a whole new look in a matter of weeks.

Yea, I can see that.  If you are still transitioning the forums, it isn't worth pouring a ton of effort into something that may soon be replaced.
