Guys - before you collectively lay an egg...chances are these will be coming by air (...).

Now, one guy bursts my bubble, and thus my hope, and the next creates hope again.

That's torture folks!

Anyway, since I preordered ages ago, I know I'll get my copy someday...

First off - Second Printing is NOT on the boat. We have not approved final galleys (though I expect them today or tomorrow). Most likely, a wide run of WoF is not on the boat, either (if it is, there's going to be a bigger issue).

Dice and OverNinja indicated they preordered directly through Mongoose. Mongoose's new presses let them run as big or small a run as they like, so they're probably shipping those preorders now before doing full runs on the books for stores and the like. Until we flag the galleys as A-OK, though, nothing gets on the boat.

So the good news is, you have a bit more time. Not tooo much, but at least a few more weeks at this rate.
Did I say boat?  Grin If they're flying in awesome!

And, since these are out, will we be seeing the .pdf anytime soon?

Unlikely since they're not officially 'out' yet I doubt the pdf will be appearing anytime soon. I believe crafty want to have a joint release date for SP and WoF. Mongoose have just been shipping some WoF pre-orders because they're ready but unless they arrive today the guys haven't yet approved a final SP galley, and there won't be a release date until after that.

Some clarifications...

The street date for this release has not been set. The PDF will be out within 2 weeks after the book's official street date.

World on Fire's street date will be the same as that of Second Printing. Since Second Printing is going through one more round of galleys, that date can't be set yet.

As soon as we know more, we'll let you know.

Huh? Huh?  I just checked the Mongoose site and it appears that they have deleted any references to either the 2nd edition and WOF?? Any ideas as to what is going on? The delays have continued to build, and now the deletion of not only the release dates but the product itself does not appear to be a good sign.

Although the Crafty Three have not said what is up, let me offer a hypothesis. See, we Crafty fans use the web to collect data, and we kept coming here and pestering the Crafty Three, and they talked to Mongoose, and the 'Goose decided the best way to avoid the headaches was to remove the Crafty products from the automated listings until they are actually released.

I have no additional evidence to back this up, but the situation at the 'Goose is obviously SNAFU. One need look no further for an explanation. No need to presume worse without evidence.

I hope that is the answer, I've been a fan of the game since it came out and while I was a bit put off when  the 2nd edition came out. I picked that up as well since I had practically all of the 1st edition. BUT, it has been so long I'm getting a bit....pessimistic.  Seeing not only the release dates generalized but the entire product list dropped raises concerns another notch.

  Thanks for the reply.

Nothing is happening to the line. It's something going on internally with Mongoose. Trust me, we are looking forward to the release of these books as much as you are, and have every intention in the world of seeing this next year of releases through as soon as possible!  Cool

Mongoose hasn't told us anything's amiss, so nothing's amiss. Smiley

I'll ping them about the product listings, but I'm sure it's something mundane like a website maintenance thing or some glitch or something.

As we've said before, all of Mongoose's web stuff is automated, which has led to issues as it's somehow tied to their production cycle and offers a "best case" scenario at all times. That proved troublesome for us, as the new printer and SP's size kept pushing the "best case" back. We asked them to make an exception for our products so their release dates could be more general until we hammered it down to a specific date. That's actually how they always should have been, so it's not that things are scaling back so much as they're settling into where they're supposed to be.

One of my players is interested in the High Roller expert class, It'd be very helpful if I knew the new requirements of that former base class.

Can someone enlighten me? (if that's all right for the Crafty guys of course)

That information has already been released among the Living Spycraft previews at http://livingspycraft.com/x/page/previews/

To quote:
High Roller (World on Fire): The High Roller is a suave jet setter possessing uncanny luck and rarely matched style. Streetwise 4+ ranks, The Dice Are Hot, Fortunate.

I was quite surprised by the High Roller, though that's probably more because I never saw the 1st ed version.
I was expecting a gambling expert, whereas it's actually more of a Luck expert.
