I have spent a while looking but couldn't find the answers. What is the size of the books? Page count? Are both hard and softcover the same dimensions?

Also will their be a PDF + Print bundle?

Loving what I am seeing so far.

Hey there Skywalker,

Welcome to the boards!

The books are 6x9 (digest) size, in 2 formats - a limited edition deluxe hardcover format available only through Crafty Games, designed specifically to look like the hardback novels (and sit nicely on your shelf with them)  and a mass market perfect bound softcover edition. Both books are the same size and page counts, though the ltd edition hardback will include color endsheets featuring the Allomantic and Feruchemical Tables of Elements.

Exact page count is still TBD, but expect in the 400 page range.

Print + PDF bundles of both versions will be available on the digital release day, November 8!

Perfect, thanks. Sounds great. Count me in for a hardback print + PDF bundle

If you don't mind me asking, if the print books are being released on 8 November, how can you not know the page count?

When you say that the Hardback will be need to be ordered direct from Crafty Games, do you mean through Studio2 Publishing?

I just did a check and their international shipping costs are beyond extortionate (and explanation). For example, the shipping on a single copy of Fantasycraft is US$51 at its lowest. I can get the same shipping on that book from Noble Knight Games for US$14, which from my considerable internet purchasing experience is about right.

As a bit of added clarification, the dimensions are not identical. Both versions feature 6 x 9 interior pages but the hardcover has the traditional 1/8" on three sides.

Thanks for your support!

Contents tend to shift a bit in the final days, and November 8 is not the print release date. That's when the digital versions will go live. We're sending the book to the printers probably a week or so after that, which will allow us to fold in that first week's invaluable feedback.

Direct-only items will be available exclusively through the Crafty Games home site, and we'll only be charging what we get charged for shipping (or a round number that's as close to that median as possible, should we go with a standardized overseas price). I can confirm that's also what's happening over at Studio 2 - that we're charging only what we get charged, or a reasonable median (can't recall which in that case - I'd have to check). Though I can't say for sure that price you're seeing from Noble Knight is most likely an extreme loss leader case. They probably make up for it in volume, which is sadly something we can't afford to do.

It's separate and will trail the core release by a bit - mainly so we can get it sufficiently illustrated (our main illustrator for the line went and scored a super awesome day job and isn't as available anymore).

EDIT: Also because we want to address a few legitimate concerns with the adventure that were brought up at Gen Con. Smiley

Even more awesome. Any chance of a rough estimate on size? I am hoping to book a game in with a group and it would be good to have rough estimate of the session length.

I ran the game twice during Gencon, and it took the full 5 hour slot both times and had to speed up and the end to see it complete.  If I were running this for my group and would plan and splitting it over 2 sessions of the 3-4 hours each and would be ample time.  But I like to spend time letting the pcs run around and look for whatever they want if they need to or not.

No. The prequel scene from the Primer was run separately, in the book as a quick demo.

So, if it gets to the printer mid-November, give a week or two for printing and shipping, my pre-order should arive late November early December, yes? That gives it a pretty decent chance of arriving on my birthday (November 30th)....

A week or two? Try four weeks for printing (both versions, so they can be shipped together), plus a week from the printers to Studio 2, plus another two to three weeks from there to distributors, and however long it takes them to get it into stores (usually another two weeks, but it varies).

Again, that's for getting the product into stores. Fortunately, we'll be able to send direct orders out as soon as they arrive from the printer, which means you'll see them much, much earlier.

Another reason to buy direct from the source. Wink
