I was not aware of that when I placed my preorder back on August 4th. It was not something that was stated in my ordering information or that I recall from the press release when the this was opened for preorders.

Yeah, delays suck. You just sounded surprised, like today was the first you heard about it.

Poor consolation but I guess the glass half full view is that the PDF does mean that you will get to look at the book a couple of months earlier than if they waited for the physical release.

It has been stated a few times that one of the reasons for this is to use the feedback to improve the final printed version, fixing any problems that will arise when people start poking the system, and asking doubts. In the long run, it's worth the wait and the final product will be better because of it.

I am surprised because there was nothing in the statement that you posted up from them, even with the underlining, that said the physical copies of the book will be delaid even more. Not one thing. How does "versions of the book will be available for direct order on the same day" translate into the pdf will be released, but you have to wait even longer for the HC book you paid for. I don't want a $45 PDF. It was not stated when I made my order, and I was never informed of this by an e-mail, so where is this coming from. And why release it if it hasn't been tested or properly edited?

This bit I'm a little confused about too, I've been digging through as much info as I can find the last month or so, but I didn't spot anything saying that the book would be delayed.

This one however I can weigh in on. No matter how rigorous the playtesting and editing, no matter how many armies of editors you use, once you release the system to the masses they will always find mistakes that you missed, loopholes you didn't anticipate, and godlike combinations you didn't see coming.
3.5 D&D would be a much more balanced system if each rulebook was released to the wild for 'testing' before the finalised the rules Smiley

It was definitely said on a number of occassions, but now I am struggling to find it in a press release too.

Oh man, this is the part that hurts.

I preordered it months ago, so I'm just waiting for an email with the code or link or however they are going to do it.

Pity that the postage costs nearly as much as the book but meh, Christmas present to myself.

*Scratches head*
Ok.. I'm confused
The download link I was sent says "Click here to download Mistborn Adventure Game Deluxe Hardcover Edition"
However the download actually downloads the House of Ash novella, not the manual itself. Is it just me?

You should get a zip file with House of Ashes PDF, Mistborn Adventure Game PDF and House of Ashes ePub.

Trying unzipping again or looking inside the zip file.
