I don't want to sound terribly needy...but I'm terribly needy. Any news?

You're not out of line. This is late and we know it. We're working. No news yet. As soon as we have any, we'll post it to the blog.

I have a quick question about content - as the book of all things magical, will Spellbound have any support for non-Sorcery magic users?  New Paths, Feats, Miracles Campaign Qualities, or other stuff I haven't thought of?

Speaking specifically to the things you mention, no. Spellbound governs strictly arcane magic. Divine material will happen elsewhere (which, believe me, is a very good thing - Spellbound's already far too large, and we're not done yet).

That's all good - so long as my tied-for-favourite class gets some lovin' at some point, I'm happy.  Also good to know I can write house rules without having to worry about clashes with a product said house rules are intended to work with.

Will any of the classes be a sort of Spell-using thief ? Maybe a rogue who learns magic to counter the deadly curses of ancient ruins or to defend against the might of sorcerrors when raiding their towers ?  Grin

The already released Mist Dancer does this to some extent, and it will be in Spellbound.

The Trickster base class in Spellbound will also fit nicely into this archetype as well. (no tease intended)

You should really feel quite free to tease, preview or outright leak any infomation you have on the Trickster.  It's ok, you can trust me - I'm a doctor (just not that kind of doctor). Wink

Will there be a more martial subtype of mage or perhaps some feats that might join mystic and martial might? I'm introducing my group to fantasycraft via converting a pathfinder adventure path that we shelved last year and one of the main characters was a rather martial bard.

You guys do some incredible work with these books and I'm practically drooling with anticipation for Spellbound. With that in mind I hope you aren't offended if I ask if you think it might come out in the next month or two?

What do you mean by "martial bard"?  How is that no accomplishable by taking combat feats as a Mage?

Well, the Channeler in Spycraft 2.0 had a high BAB and I'm sure at least 1 or more will receive the same and certainly others with medium BAB. Not to mention that with all the new spells will give many more options as to what and how your spellcaster complements combat.

Until then, while the Mage may not enjoy the best BAB, there are tricks that will allow him to use one of his other stats for attacks in the Adventure Companion. On top of that, with all those skill points you can try to maximize the use of combat actions that require skills like Threaten or Tire, especially teamed with Mix-Up. Using a pike with the Disarm action piles enough bonuses against most enemies that it helps offset the lower base attack bonus. Relentless Attack and Salt the Wound are other good ways to pile combat bonuses onto your character.

A moderate Base attack bonus would likely be enough to me. One of the great virtues of the various Crafty games are the robust and powerful feat system they have that allows a player to built a very well rounded and interesting character.

As for the character being a Martial Bard, well he is the big fighter of the group which even now surprises me considering his spoony bard origins. That being said his magic use was pretty integral to his character concept so being a straight fighter or even a gallant type fighter doesn't quite fit.

While our group has played spycraft in the past I've never run anything in fantasycraft and I'm not sure how well a low BAB fighter would pan out in the long run. Right now my player is in fact looking at a mage with combat feats but I like to give my players as many options as I can.

Thanks for the info Foghorn, I'll check over my Adventure Companion and see if that'll help.
