What's the mechanical difference between using the hidden turret gadget and simply housing a weapon in the vehicle itself via a gadget pick?

The weapon doesn't come with the hidden turret gadget (but it does allow the installation of more than one weapon at PR>1). Also, miniaturised gear picks take (Caliber) rounds to ready or conceal, and the housing cannot be used while the gear is readied.

I'd disagree with the logic of that - housing a machine gun in a car isn't going to stop you using the car. It might stop you using the indicators that have folded down to reveal the muzzle of the weapon, but that's about it

My suggestion. 'House' the weapon gadget in a common item, such as the headlights, rims, or similar components. I'm not sure about the mechanical legality of it, but it seems fair enough to me (you give up a common item, after all).

Problem is that the touted housing, being diminutive or fine, are too small for a small to medium object
