Thank you for that, English isn't my first language so it isn't often that I get the chance to do descriptions like these.

Also, it'll take you several rounds to walk back to the road, so your companions might've done something to the last goblin before you get there.

I agree, the descriptions have been great. That scene was fun to "watch".  Grin

Figure it will take some significant amount of time to catch up to Vander so allowing for others to post before doing anything else... if she finds nothing near the road where the drake was last she will then head into the forest toward where she last heard the drake.  Wink

What you can all see: various goblin corpses, and one goblin curled into a ball and shivering slightly. If you're standing downwind you can smell what you suspect goblin piss to smell like.
In addition, Ssryn can, armed with the information the goblin told her, juuust make out a pair of boots underneath a bush a bit up the road.

Most awesome adventures in my absence!  Back in town.  Vegas was nice: three shows and some decent dinner.  Plus I got to spend time with my wife away from the kids.

---~~---

Dinner is about to be served, so I will post before I go to bed this evening.

A little clarification for Catodon: You traveled with a caravan for as long as you could, but they stopped several villages ago and you've been walking/flying/slithering since then.

Now that I'm back home and have my books on hand, I guess I should do gear.  So, unless I am way off in left field, we get 100s per level (200s) plus Panache income (20s) for gear.

Thus out of 220s, Alexander has already committed to:

General
Grooming Case - 2 lbs. - 8s
Rope (per last post) - 10 lbs. - 6s (He has his eye on some silk when he can afford it.)

Armor
Fitted Partial Leather armor /w Light Fittings (DR 2; DP -0; ACP -0; Speed -0 ft.; Disguise -4; Qualities: Fire Resistance 3) – 12 lbs. – 90s

Weapons
Rapier (1d8 lethal; threat 19-20; Qualities: Bleed, finesse) – 3 lbs. – 30s
Short Bow (Arrow; threat 19-20; 20 ft. x 6; Qualities: AP 2) – 2 lbs. – 40s
Standard Arrows (30) (1d6 lethal; Qualities: AP2, poisonous) – 3 lbs. – 10s

Which comes to 184s if my math is right.

So, he has 36s left to spend.

Theives tools seem appropriate: 1 lbs. - 20s

As does a canteen: 0.5 lbs. - 5s

And some rations: 5 lbs. - 5s (7 uses)

Leaving him with 6s in hand

Got it
Also, look at Vandarzryx's background this kind of situation is very familiar to him.
from background:

"...rather than stake a claim on land then have to struggle with folk rulers and their armies I have decided offer my services to folk rulers. Most barons ignored my offers of council and put me to war. War among the weaker species is unlike the might duels of drakes. At first I was horrified by the carnage, but overtime I have become hardened to the reality of war. I came to see war as a puzzle, the strangeness of folk their politics and history so different to that of solitary dragons, the folk their conflicts and reasons for war so endlessly fascinating. Among the folk war is terrible but there are often noble reasons for participating in the carnage.”

ArawnNox: Note that Northpoint is to the west of the dwarven empire, so it's likely that the closest garrison isn't all that fortified. Also, while it's common knowledge that the northern empire has been stagnant for the last century or two, as a dwarf you know it's actually been in decline. Over the years they've lost or abandoned several great halls, and though they still claim the same area of land that they have for centuries, a lot of it lies unused as they haven't the resources or manpower to settle it.

I'm suddenly reminded of the game I ran in which the party defended a small town from an orcish horde. Smiley

Very well, actually.
They isolated off the various lieutennants, ganged up on the boss, slowed the advance by tilling up the fields and abusing "Create Water", and used fire to great advantage and had strategically placed water barrels to keep the town from burning up, and funelled the army into narrow alleys with archers on the roofs and armed pesants in the alleys.

Plenty happy to wait out for the party's more charismatic folk to do the talking first... going to be away from the computer most of tomorrow anyway.  Wink

@ Catodon

Excellent post for our resident dragon.  I laughed out loud.  Not the chuckle that most of us mean when we say "LOL" but an actual belly laugh.  Well done.
