Question about the Lizard-Man. If he has a natural attack, isn't he already always considered armed for Intimidate?

The rulebook says nothing about Natural Attack giving an advantage mechanically towards Intimidate.  The book only states that he is always considered proficient with this attack and may ready it as a free action.  It is certainly a valid reason in allowing you to use a Threaten attack action which is pretty much intimdate.

By the way, Wolvie, nice write up of Lizard man.

I can see some sort of synergy bonus given to an Intimidate check if the person/creature possesses a natural attack.

The only question is "Is a natural weapon a lethal weapon?" I'm gonna have to say the answer is yes. The always armed comment is probably redundant in the Lizard Man, bur easily replaced with intimidate always being a class skill for them.

I'm not sure a toy poodle even qualifies for Bite I. It's more like Vicious Nibbling I Roll Eyes.

If anything, little dogs inflict Bang damage...I've met some little ones that presumably had evolved beyond the need to have any organs except lungs, considering the volume of their yapping.

Speaking as someone who lives next door to a house with three - count them, three - yapping rats, I concur.

I don't know about most small dogs, but you get between mine and a pork rib bone, you'll be fetching a band aid later.

All kidding aside...

I was working on some Ancient factions for humans to compete against the Light of Olympus races and I came across a previous write-up of the Spartan. It went a completely different direction than I have taken it, but I was curious as to the point cost for:

• Each time you gain ranks in the Intimidate skill, you also gain an equal number of ranks in the Athletics skill (up to your maximum).

My guess is 4 points, but I just wanted to be sure.

A second point...

In the Wiki, the above statement read: "(up to your maximum in your Survival skill)." Isn't that a bit redundant, considering there isn't anything about the Spartan Specialty that would suggest his Survival skill would be higher than the rest of his skills?

(3.5) for "paired" skills. One of the best additions to the list of options since 2.0 came out. Very flexible in offering 870 possible uses Smiley.

Using the Spartan example, its to prevent confusion about puting skill points into Athletics first, then expecting that by putting points into Intimidate you could drive your Athletics rank up even further as those points produced bonus ranks for Athletics. Sounds like there may have been a cut-and-paste error in the example you were looking at.

A question to all who had seen my old IIWW specialities.
My copy is corrupted and I'm starting to work on them from the beggining, my problem here is that I'm restoring the names from memory.
Did anyone save them?

You are always considered armed when making Intimidation checks.

My bad!  I sorta misunderstood the question and intimidate.  I overlooked that line.

OK.  I still don't get how, mechanics-wise, being armed effects intimidation checks.  In other words, I don't see any rule in the book that tells me what modifier to give to the person in regards to making intimidation checks when armed.

Table 2.9 shows an Intimidate/Coercion chesk as having the GER (weapon) tag, so making a Coercion check without a weapon suffers a -4 penalty. I assume this is what's waived when you're "armed" (through a character option rather than a normal weapon) for the purposes of an Intimidate check.

[The tag doesn't appear on the check description, which is somewhat misleading]

Thanks!

Hopefully, that will be added to the errata.  I didn't think of looking at the summary table.

The pressing feature is that there are levels of demand you CANNOT make without a weapon.

Aragathor, I believe they're all already in the Wiki. I know they were when I went through the Origin pages.

Nope they aren't there. Only the Talents are listed in the wiki.
