Hiya All,

Based on my new found love of Fantasy Craft, I was thinking of converting some of my True20 campaign stuff to FC.

Specifically, Nevermore and Blood Throne.

On the surface (I am still pretty new to FC) it seems like it probably wouldnt be too hard.

How hard is the True20 conversion to FC?

Advice greatly appreciated.

I believe Blood Throne is a traditional fantasy setting and therefore shouldn't be that difficult to convert.  However, I think Nevermore would require more work because it is not a typical fantsy setting.

Hiya,

I understand the setting differences, I was more wondering about bestiary / NPC conversions.

I have read that the pathfinder / 3.5 ogl stuff can be kind of a pain to convert over.  True20 seems closer to Fantasy Craft, so I assume it would be easier.

That being said, I havent tried it yet.  So, I was wondering if anyone has tried it and if they might have some advice for conversion.

Thanks,

Eric

Nah, it's extremely easy. Or more precisely, moderately easy if you try to do it "by the book", using the guide from FC's core rulebook for each and every step, and extremely easy if you are more trying to "capture the feel" of the NPC/monster without really paying attention to the numbers. Right now, for a monster without too much weird stuff to it, it takes me about 15 minutes of conversion using the first method, perhaps less than 5 using the second one. I don't think it can get simpler than that, but I do hope it remains just as easy with True20.   Wink

I saw this at work and checked my True20 books when I got home.  I don't see any issues with a conversion from True20 to Fantasy Craft.

The only things I noted (but you probably already knew) were as follows:

Skills:
Computers - No equivalent (but unless you are playing SpyCraft, it won't matter.)
Pilot - Again, no equivalent but I suppose you could use Ride
Stealth - either Sneak of Blend but I would tend to use Sneak as Stealth is an active skill in True20.
The rest of them are either obvious (Medicine = Medicine) or are already covered in Table 6.13.

I didn't look at feats but I'm sure you can deal with those.

If you aren't using one of the multitude of hit point conversions on the True20 Forums, then you will need to give some thought to converting a weapon's attack bonus to a die type (assuming you aren't using a listed item or a similar monster).

If you have other questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Welcome to Fantasy Craft!
