Howdy all! I have been with Spycraft since before Stargate - and followed it throughout. Now I am seeing Spycraft 3 and wondering where I can find some information on what it is going to be. You see I lost all of my originial books and am thinking about getting back into them after a couple of years off (grad school does that to you). Then I saw this...

I like more realistic games and so 2.0 took some getting used to and I am a little worried that Three is going to go more campy, cinematic or if it will still support my play style... I tried GURPS for awhile but it was just to much of a headache (maybe if I had gotten a masters in math instead?) and so Spycraft is my go to for my games.

Is there anyplace to find some information on which way the game is going? What it looks like or anything?

We're still a ways off from release and so very little concrete information has been released. I can tell you that, from what I see in your post, you should be pleased. Among (a lot of) other things, Spycraft Third will be able to dramatically shift the tone, flavor, and mechanics of combat, gear, and a host of other things, so that realistic game will be perfectly doable. So will camp and everything in-between. There will be a baseline, which is a lot closer to modern (Daniel Craig) Bond than anything else.

Be sure to subscribe to our feed, Like us on Facebook, and Follow us on Twitter, plus watch the site here, as these are the places we'll be trickling out new info as we get (much) closer to release.

Thanks, and Stay Crafty!

We tend not to release too much information until pretty close to release. Anticipation fatigue is a Very Real Thing (tm). Smiley

Especially in this industry I imagine.

So we are looking at next year I am guessing... I went ahead and picked up some PDFs from the store to hold me over.

To be honest, I've found the PDFs of 2.0 to be useful references for some things in my FC games, and I'm sure that won't change in 10kB or 3.0.

Things like Stand Offs, Dramatic Conflicts, the One Man Army Expert class, the Partner feat chain, the Mark of X and Lore of X feats, etc have all found their way into my game with few changes. The Firebrand Expert and the Camaraderie chain have also made appearances, although with much more extensive changes since they touch on things not directly covered in FC's rules.
