I love the little guys, and I want them to be an easy option for PCs without having to make a race. I was thinking saurian with the goblin blooded feat. It would probably also be common to drop a score by 2 and take nasty little git or cute and cuddly (cutebold) as well. Do we think that would fit the idea of a Kobold pretty well? At one point I was thinking goblin with draconic heritage but I don't really like the stats that comes up with as much.

Additionally, here's the art I'm working on for them:

I don't want them to look too nasty, mostly because that's the goblin's schtick. They have a tendency of wearing things that are not appropriately sized for them.  Undecided

That would seem a fair way to build them.  There have also been a few attempts at homebrew in the past:

Deral's version
Eloise Cartwright's version
Mr Anderson's version
Various other versions (from the time of the first printing, although it should make little enough difference).

I'd forgotten just how very pleased with that build I was.

Also Paddy, you need to correct your links

Hmm hm hm, I looked over the various kobold builds and while I agree they are good, I think I like the simplicity of not adding a new race, just an existing race/feat combination.

I like the picture: really make me want to feature them in a setting.

SCORE! That's what I like to hear, hehe.

I'm Old I still prefer the little 'bulldog' kobolds from the 2e folder.

They should get morale bonuses if you let them raid a hat store. Cheesy

Bonus points if it's a Lord Captain Drake and the dragon cult that worship him, complete with a wily and manipulative cult leader for his PL.

Yeah, I totally haven't forgotten about their tendency to worship drakes. That is definitely  going to be a part of their lore and ecology.

I was thinking of a drake PC when I said that. Course most of my FC characters I've thought of are drakes so far...

Yeah. This. I had to jump in here to say I actually really like the style, I'm a big fan of your artwork, apparently.

If the PL is named PunPun I'm running for the hills.
