I have the Crafty Blog on my RSS reader so I don't miss anything and this didn't turn up

EDIT: seems the RSS feed settings have changed, I have re-subscribed and all the blog posts are there.

Ah good. That was gonna be my first suggestion. Glad it worked for you. :)

Am I the only person here who thinks that the little stuffed dudes are like the characters from 9?

Pardon me, I must now go listen to Coheed and Cambria very, very loud.

Nope!

Hate to be a killjoy here, but, the reason FC appeals to me is because they've gone out of their way to 'tone down' the disruptive impact magical spells can have on a game.

Doesn't this go in the opposite direction?

It's not like you're under any compulsion to use it  ;)

No, just that we will have a lot more spells, and that there'll be some overly powerful spells in the mix.

I heard FC did a good job in paring back spell casters, I'm anxious that this could undo that work

Where did you hear this?

The Crafty guys did a good job keeping these out of the core book, what makes you think they can't do the same with this product?

No need to fret. All the same considerations are going into this book that went into the core product. All this book is doing is expanding on the basic spellcasting toolkit. Yes, it adds new classes, spells, and other options but it also includes tons of ways to tailor casting in your games, whether it's to ratchet it back up (because some folks want that) or keep it restricted in new and interesting ways. :)

Just what I wanted to hear

Sounds like a very good addition to the game line

I take it there's no way of getting hold of the Spellbound Preview in the interim then?

Not just now. That material is in edits anyway and is subject to (slight to moderate) change.
