Beginners Guide to creating new content for Fantasy Craft. It took me a while to find all this information on the boards, although most of it can be found on the Crafty-Games site, it wasn't until it was linked by a member on the boards that I even knew it was there, so I imagine many new players don't know where to find the information. I am currently missing hard point totals/values for combat or other feat chains past the first feat. Please let me know if the second or third feat in a chain has a different point value or anything else I missed or should be added. Hopefully this is useful for anyone not named Morgenstern, Krensky, paddyfool, Agent 333, aegis,  Wolverine or Mister Anderson, maybe even enough to get stickied.  Wink

Feat Creation Guidlines:

Species Feat - Level 1 only
2.5-3.0 "Points"

Species Feat - Second in Chain, requires previous Racial Feat
3.0-3.5 "Points"

Racial Feats chain should total 6 points combined. 2.5 + 3.5 is recommended however 3.0 + 3.0 is acceptable.

Feats from Pathfinder/d20/3.0/3.5 are usually under powered compared to FC feats.

Well done and welcome.
Also see the Fantasy craft database (google it) for more worked examples.

I know about it, I just didn't know if it was "good form" to link to it on these forums. Also the examples on the Fantasy Craft DB dont show the point value of the pieces put into the Species, Specalties, etc. The ones on the in house wiki have the point values listed so you can see they add up to 7, however the DB has way more examples for feats.

Considering it has a stickied thread in the Fantasy Craft forum announcing its creation, you can rest assured there's no problem to be had with linking to it here.

The site is for the publication of homebrew material, so generally one doesn't submit anything to there until it's been finalized and is considered "finished." This is why you don't see point values on the species and specialties and talents, as they don't get on there at all unless they're properly balanced to 7 points.

The secret is - outside the species feats, there are no "points" used to generate feats. Smiley The structure is there but not everything in the game is broken down into numerical values.

Also I tend to go with the mantra "It's not really finished until it's play-tested"
