Given that the internet is the new printing press, this is not insane; as long as it does not lead people demand that access to the internet be provided to them at the expense of others.

Plenty of precedent for that, methinks. The second amendment gives us the right to bear arms, but doesn't give free guns to all citizens, for example Smiley

It is a good argument for a Rural Electrification/Telephony Act type program and another good argument for funding public libraries though.

It is a good argument for a Rural Electrification/Telephony Act type program and another good argument for funding public libraries though.
There are plenty of good arguments for town/county/state funding of public libraries.  Too bad that money is being spent squandered on the "war on drugs."
