I know you guys are a diligent, small publishing company, but have you ever talked about an Open Playtest?  It could help drive interest in the ruleset for lapsed customers & the curious who have never dived in.  I think SC 3, as the flagship product could do that.

All playtesting is carried out in-house using a coordinated list of trusted playtesters. I sincerely doubt that Crafty Games will be considering this any time in the next decade...  Undecided

The problem I see is that the only folks I know who did an "open playtest" could do that because they could nearly give away their game system - their value proposition was hooking people on the monthly adventure releases that then use it. Crafty has never had that kind of content stream - the value is in the system itself, and the freebies/open releases tend to be the adventures, not the rules.
